Horrible service and food was not better. Took 10 minutes after being seated (at a crumby table) to see a server and was rudely asked straight away for drinks, I had wanted a smoothie and a coffee but after ordering the smoothie she immediately turned to my boyfriend to get his drink order then tried to walk away, I had to call after her asking for a cappuccino (that was on the menu) to which she said “we don’t do that” then walked away with offering or asking if there was anything else. We where also never offered refills at any point. Takes about another 15 minutes for our food order to be taken, after the food comes out my bagel was burnt, the salmon was brown(??) and the capers where somehow both mushy and dry and my boyfriends bacon resembled paper towel in both appearances and flavour. Waitress never came back so we tried our best to get down the somewhat edible parts. After finishing what little we could we stacked the plates to signify we where finished but did not see the waitress again for another 45mins even though we where the ONLY people in the restaurant (photos attached as proof the place was empty) and could hear her loudly conversing with a coworker in the bar/kitchen area. When she did come back it was just with the bill and machine, she did not clear plates or ask how the food was. My boyfriend urged me not to tip at all considering the circumstances but as I work in the industry I still left a 2$ tip on the 50$ bill which I immediately regretted as she audibly sighed/grunted at me and rolled her eyes upon printing the receipt and immediately crumpled it and shoved it in her pocket and walked away without offering me my copy. Extremely appalled and disappointed in the treatment and quality of both food and service provided to paying customers. Would give 0 stars if possible...
Read moreThis was my first experience with Tutti Frutti and I have to say I was not impressed.
Upon entering we were seated promptly but the table and some of the chairs were sticky. We asked for the table to be wiped and the server came by with a napkin moistened with water and wiped about half of the table, which did not do anything to address the issue.
It took about 20 minutes for the waitress to come by and take our drink order, by which time we were ready to order entrees as well. The waitress seemed surprised by this but took the whole order.
After 10 more minutes water was brought out. 10 minutes after that the rest of our drinks were provided. I wasn't timing the experience but I want to highlight how long everything took, even very basic tasks. It was not busy that day, half full at most.
It took about 40 minutes to receive our food. We did not see the waitress during that time and we needed to call her and confirm that our food was actually coming. One of the four dishes was not what was ordered and needed to be remade. Fortunately, it only took about five or ten minutes to get the correct dish.
The food was okay, but somewhat bland and lacking seasoning. The poached eggs, when firm was requested, more closely resembled hard-boiled than firmly poached. Table syrup was provided for pancakes, which I find disappointing in a Canadian restaurant - it's much nicer to receive maple syrup.
The overall experience took about 90 minutes and was too frustrating and unimpressive to be worth that kind of wait. This was my first experience at Tutti Frutti and I'm not excited to visit a member of this franchise again, and I would never visit this particular...
Read moreWe were seated at a filthy sticky table, had a waitress come by 10 minutes in to take our drink order-was annoyed we were also ready to order. Coffee showed up 10 minutes later. 45 minutes in a porter came by to clean table from previous customers that had used our table, was confused and asked why we were there- stared at us then left. An hour in table next to us left since they hadn’t even been acknowledged, no one noticed them leave. 14 tables of customers and 12 staff all bundled in the back by the dishwashing section in deep conversation, laughing and chatting away. No waitstaff on the restaurant floor, no one refilling coffees. The entire time we were there one order of food was actually served. At an hour and 25 minutes in we left, my brother stopping to pay for the coffees we’d had. Waitress was angry and walked away swearing under her breath as she walked past us. She walked in a loop to the back of the restaurant and complained to other staff and management while pointing at the 4 of us as the staff watched on. Several minutes later manager came up and was rude and aggressive with my brother and husband. Walked up on the offensive and escalated immediately. Did not ask why we were leaving, walked up yelling and behaving obscenely. Hadn’t left the parking lot when we watched another table of people leaving, also heading elsewhere to get a meal. We used to frequent this place and the service and staff were friendly and swift. New management and staff is disappointing, politely put. Wouldn’t recommend...
