Our first time here… No hostess or signs saying to seat yourselves, stood at entrance for almost 10 mins with numerous staff passing by ignoring our entire presence, not even a smile (it was not a busy night at all) customer sitting at the bar had to be the one to let us know to seat ourselves - you should hire him!
Waitress was too busy gossiping with the others in the corner and left our cocktail and bottled beer sitting on the bar counter out in the open for 10+ minutes, where they easily could have been spiked!!! I had to grab our drinks and serve myself and my fiance lol, ridiculous.
Waitress forgot to bring water, napkins, wet-wipes, and cutlery to the table - which was annoying as we had ordered saucy wings… had to literally wash our hands in the bathroom and use tissue paper to wipe our faces. Calamari was a joke - tiny pieces as big as a thumbnail that weren’t deep fried properly and were rubbery, not crispy at all for $17!! Our waitress was either MIA or could be seen gossiping in the corner of the restaurant the entire time and never once asked us how anything was or offered anything else. Had to flag down a different server who thankfully passed by us for the bill after sitting with our dirty dishes for 15 minutes.
Spent so much money to service ourselves, be ignored, and have calamari that makes Opa’s calamari seem Michelin grade. Never been in a restaurant that feels so cold, uninviting, and unwelcoming with horrible service and drink safety practices. Our first time & our last.
This place is probably better off turning into a buffet with the way staff ignores you and you gotta serve...
Read moreStopped in for drinks and eats on a hot Tuesday afternoon in July. It was 'Food Truck Tacos & Tots' day but, wanting to try a few dishes, we opted for the Happy Hour menu (there's also an evening Happy Hour from 9pm to closing!).
The short menu included a single taco so I had the crispy fish which came cuddled with coleslaw and spicy ginger crema, topped with jalapeños. The fish was perfectly fried, not greasy, and the taco overall had a super clean bite to it that made the flavours of the fish and ginger crema each stand on its own. Paired with tater tots and mango salsa, it was a really tasty starter plate.
The second dish was equally satisfying, if not more so - the Mini Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Double-breaded and spicy, this decent sized 'mini' version of the regular menu item was topped with pickles and coleslaw on a soft brioche bun. Sided with crispy and lightly salted house-made Old Bay kettle chips, the sandwich rivals Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen's chicken sandwich in spiciness and, although half the regular size, was surprisingly filling.
To finish off, the Peach & Mango Hand Pies is a must. Two southern-style crispy fruit pies served warm with vanilla ice cream, Kentucky bourbon caramel sauce, atop a dusting of cinnamon. Yum!
A perfect meal presented by the best server, Sue - super friendly, funny, attentive, and deeply knowledgeable about the entire menu. All staff were lovely and kind but Sue made the time there so homey and comfortable, she really topped off our dining...
Read moreTwo visits and I was disappointed both times.
The first I was here for appies and drinks with a large crew. We were underserved - bought a couple bottles of wine and they kept em behind the bar, no interest in filling our glasses when they were empty - or to even ask when they were empty. All. Night. Long. Server was distant and unhelpful. Weak service, unprofessional wine service, disappointment was real for the whole party.
This most recent visit wasn’t so good either. We arrived at 11:45 in hopes of catching some late night appies and drinks after our own jobs in hospitality - fully aware we may not receive the appies. Hopes were up because the signs were still on the Water St. sidewalk. Kitchens close and I deal with it - totally fine if that’s the case. The bartender approached us and brazenly informed us we already missed last call. No hello or anything, just a a “We’ve done last call already, sorryyyyyy” after a lengthy discussion checking their watches (three individuals behind the bar), and that quick sentry sent our way to “shoo” us out. Fair amount of folks sitting at the bar, tons in the casino. I mean, if I was gonna pay bar prices for bar fare - this would be just fine. But I expect more from Match, in a Casino, at Match prices. Whether the food or booze were available or not, I still expect more. Evidently I was expecting too much on both occasions. I brought my business - two full dinners and an inquisitive list of drink orders...
