A Perfect Date Night Experience at Jack Astor's!

My wife and I recently had an amazing date night at Jack Astor's, and it was nothing short of perfect! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a lively and welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the evening. The décor is modern yet cozy, making it the perfect spot for a romantic night out or a casual dinner with friends.

We were fortunate to have Kayla as our waitress, and she made our experience truly exceptional. Kayla was attentive, friendly, and had a great sense of humor, which added to the relaxed vibe of the evening. She was quick with our orders, gave excellent recommendations, and ensured that everything was to our liking throughout the night.

The food was fantastic! My wife had the fish tacos with poutine, and she couldn't stop raving about how flavorful and fresh everything tasted. I went for the burger with sweet potato fries, and it was cooked to perfection – juicy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the crispy, sweet fries. The portion sizes were generous, and everything was served hot and promptly. The menu has a great variety, catering to different tastes, and the drinks were spot on – the perfect blend of creativity and classic flavors.

Overall, our night at Jack Astor's was a memorable one, and we left with smiles on our faces. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a great meal, whether it's for a special occasion or just a night out. And if you're lucky enough to have Kayla as your server, you're in for a treat! We'll definitely be...

If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to be served by a deity in human form, look no further than Emily F at Jack Astor’s in Kitchener. This woman isn’t just a server—she’s a hospitality phenom, a menu whisperer, and possibly the unspoken mayor of Flavor Town.

From the moment she greeted our table, we knew we were in the hands of someone special. Our order was no small feat: chicken wings crisped to perfection, wonton nachos that could bring a grown man to tears, a pad thai that slapped harder than your grandma’s sandal, classic chicken fingers and fries that were textbook comfort, and a chicken club that made me momentarily question every other sandwich I’ve ever loved.

But the real star of the night? Emily F. Her timing? Impeccable. Her recommendations? Inspired. Her energy? As if caffeine itself had a favorite barista.

She managed our chaos with the grace of a ballerina and the command of a drill sergeant. Jokes were cracked, drinks were refilled before we even had to ask, and she somehow made every one of us feel like we were her only table.

Also—PSA to the universe: It’s her birthday tomorrow. If you’re reading this, stop what you’re doing, drive to Jack Astor’s in Kitchener, and wish this angel of service the happiest of birthdays. Preferably with cake. Or confetti. Or maybe just your best manners and a generous tip.

To sum it up: Emily F didn’t just serve us food—she served us a full-blown experience. And we left full, happy, and already planning...

Good food, bad experience!

We went on a Saturday night and it really wasn’t overly busy for that time, lots of staff on. After being seated it took almost 15 minutes for the waitress to take a drink order. And we waited!

After a good 10-15 more minutes I watched our waitress walk back in the restaurant (presumably out smoking based on the fact she walked back in wearing a coat) and go to the bar order station to put in the order to the bar tender for our drinks. I mentioned the wait time when she returned (we still haven’t ordered yet and it’s been almost a half hour at this point). She in return hurriedly took our food order, muttered something under her breath and left. I was not rude to her, I never raised my voice, and did not do anything short of mention the wait for service.

From then on we were basically ignored. The food showed up, it was delicious. We finished our food, and sat at the table with empty glasses for quite a while. When she finally returned my wife asked to see a desert menu. She literally walked away, walked by, dropped it on our table without saying a word and disappeared again for over 10 minutes until we basically just wanted to leave.

The food was amazing, but we will not be back. We pay a lot for food to put up with what was clearly just lazy and...

5 Stars – Bless Her Heart, Emily F is a Gem! Well, let me tell y’all somethin’—if you find yourself sittin’ down for a bite at Jack Astor’s in Kitchener, you best hope Miss Emily F is your server. That girl’s got hospitality runnin’ through her veins like sweet tea on a hot July afternoon. From the moment we sat down, Emily made us feel right at home—like we were sittin’ on a front porch swing with family. She was as sweet as pecan pie, quick with a smile, and even quicker with our drinks (and Lord knows, I don’t like to wait on my Coke!). She knew the menu better than my mama knows her biscuit recipe, gave the best recommendations, and checked in just enough to make sure we were happy without hoverin’. Now that’s a talent. The food was mighty fine, but Emily? She’s the reason we’ll be comin’ back. She turned a regular ol’ dinner into a downright delight. If y’all want top-notch service with a warm, Southern-style touch—ask for Emily F. She’s a true Southern belle, even if she’s North of the border!

This is a casual restaurant with a sports bar vibe. If you're into loud music while eating, this is for you 😀. The food was good. I ordered a beer and cheddar soup for starters, which was tasty but not warm enough. I also had, bow pasta with chicken and mushrooms, also tasty, similar taste to the soup. The service is very poor, every time I come here. I don't know why, I keep coming back. You get rushed to pay before finishing your meal. I asked Becky my server, what's the rush, her response was , they are sending her for break. I was going to order coffee and dessert, to finish off my meal but I was turned off by how rushed I felt. At the door, I was greeted by a young lady and I asked a table for one and she asked if I wanted to sit at the bar . I asked her if the tables were full and she said no, she was just asking. If I wanted to sit at the bar, I would have said so. Anyhow, not coming back again and wouldn't recommend this place, I gave it so many chances, every time I get disappointed
