Shanghai Chop house — Restaurant in Lethbridge

Picture is after we ate some, dishes came full. First time trying the place, and was somewhat disappointed. I̶ ̶h̶a̶d̶ ̶o̶r̶d̶e̶r̶e̶d̶ ̶C̶h̶i̶c̶k̶e̶n̶ ̶C̶h̶o̶w̶ ̶M̶e̶i̶n̶ ̶e̶x̶p̶e̶c̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶ ̶d̶i̶s̶h̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶'̶s̶ ̶m̶o̶s̶t̶l̶y̶ ̶n̶o̶o̶d̶l̶e̶s̶,̶ ̶b̶u̶t̶ ̶g̶o̶t̶ ̶a̶ ̶b̶o̶w̶l̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶c̶a̶b̶b̶a̶g̶e̶ ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ ̶a̶ ̶b̶i̶t̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶n̶o̶o̶d̶l̶e̶s̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶c̶h̶i̶c̶k̶e̶n̶.̶ I had ordered Shredded Ginger Beef in Hot Sauce expecting a dish that's both Ginger and Hot, but instead I got a dish that has the shape of ginger beef, but the colour and flavour of sweet and sour pork; that vibrant red sweet sauce devoid of any spice. I had called to ask if the Ginger Beef was a mistake, but they said if you want it spicy you need to specify. With the menu saying "in hot sauce" under the heading "spicy and delicious", the last thing I would expect is this. Beef and broccoli was good and as expected, and the service in person was friendly. Prices were reasonable. If I try again I'll specify "HOT" for the Ginger beef, hopefully then it'll be both spicy and Ginger.

Edit - I'm not sure how I've lived here this long and not known that Lethbridge Chow Mein was different, but I can confirm now that this isn't the only restaurant with cabbage style Chow Mein. My bad 😅. Cantonese style is what...

This is what $68.00 buys you, which of course includes the delivery. All inedible. WORST ever! The container with the brown stuff is supposed to be sweet and sour spareribs. Gross!!! Rice was not cooked, chow mein was awful, ginger chicken was definitely Not ginger chicken and to top it off we did not receive the chicken balls….. however we received the sauce for them. I called and the gal I talked to offered me a credit. I asked for a refund as I will NEVER order again and I am still waiting to hear from the Manager. Well just spoke to the Manager and NO refund. However he will issue a credit, non transferable of course. WOW!!! Did not seem to care at all about how unhappy we were. Oh well! He kept on interrupting me until I finally had to ask him to let me speak and then he was very sarcastic for the duration of the conversation. You have great food however tonight we were in your establishment just before closing at 9:40 p.m. and ordered a dinner for 3 with changes eg. dry ribs instead of sweet and sour and ordered 4 egg rolls this was to go because you had changed your hours. Service was very prompt however when we arrived at home our order was incomplete no egg roles and our order was over $35.00, $51.40 to be exact. Aside from no egg rolls there was no 10% discount since we picked up our order. This is second time this has happened the last time we picked up our order half was missing and there was no 10% discount, then your delivery person had to bring it over and by that time it was cold. 'You have great food' but for this mistake to happen a second time? We will call you tomorrow you, since you had already closed by the time we noticed our order was incomplete.
