Tim Hortons — Restaurant in Markham

DISCLAIMER: This is review is based primarily on my experiences with their drive thru services.

I've been coming here for a couple of years now, but mainly at around 9am Sunday. Their service is unusual, weird, and poorly lacking in the quality of accuracy. For months now; once you've ordered, they will stick out a hand to stop you 15 to 20 feet from the pick-up window. About a minute or two later, they wave you hurriedly to drive up. Then they rush to give you your order. Literally every week, they have gotten my order wrong. So, as I'm stopped at the window and they're verbally trying to rush me out of there, I need to check my order to point out their mistakes. I've driven off before only to stop and turn around and physically walk in and correct their mistakes- several times. Again....this has been going on for months now.

The other thing I've noticed is that their staff is all Filippino. As an Asian, I can tell the difference between other Asian ethnicities. The problem with this is they're constantly socializing in Tagalog and this fraternization is clearly causing a degradation of their ability to perform their jobs responsibly. The odd times that I have visited in the evenings, I've had no issues. But, there are less customers to deal with at night time vs the mornings.

Quality of the food and "hot" beverages are average. Sometimes the coffee is watered down too much. The food is also sometimes not fresh at all and feels like it's been sitting out for awhile and has a rubbery chewiness to it.

April 24 2025 Update: Since my last review, they continue to stop me by holding their hand outside the drive through window immediately after I order. This is with no one in front of me or behind me. When asked why they stop me, since it looks extremely weird and completely unnecessary, they have not been able to answer rationally. When one person answered that it has to do with their cooking of the food - I asked how stopping my car 100 feet away will impede their ability to do so, and was ignored. Today, there were several cars in front and behind me. When it was my turn, the drive thru attendant put their hand up to stop the pickup truck behind me......extremely unnecessary and odd since I was at a complete stop and they wouldn't have been able to proceed anyways. I am completely baffled as to this behaviour because years before this, none of this was happening. Do better. Stop this weirdness and...

If I could put 0 star I would. This place should not be operating, as I was inside to speak with the manger they had another client complaint from drive through. I access this location only on Saturday morning as my daughter ballet class is near by and they never get our order right. Today I went inside to speak with the manger who’s name is Dodong, waited 5 mins for him to come and speak with me, when I explained to him the issue his response was “If you are not happy with our service why you are keep coming back” I felt so embarrassed in front of these people, I said the least you can do is apologize for your poor service and simply said you can leave. I responded back saying I paid for these coffees (coffee was completely burnt)at least change them, he ignored me as if I wasn’t even there. I requested another employee and he was kind enough to change the coffee. I totally understand why people won’t do their properly at this location because they have a poor leadership to look up to. I will never go to this place again and right now just waiting to hear back on my complaint from Tim Hortons regional...

TL;DR Don't come here if you're in a hurry 😂 EDIT: Sept 03/22 It's almost like they're worse now! Twice in a row they're not only slow, but get my order wrong! That's gotta be some record 😳

Single-handedly the worst service of any fast food chain. Unfortunately this is the only Tim's on my route to and from work, so take it from someone who's a repeat customer 😂

Last night I had to bang on the glass to get someone's attention, otherwise I'd be waiting for more than fifteen minutes. Anyways, it's fine at night because I'm on my way home, and the bus can sometimes take a half hour to show up.

This morning, like every morning, they ignore inside orders; not like the drive thru is much faster, anyways. Sometimes the line goes around the inside of the gas station, it's quite comical.

Would strongly not recommend if you have to be somewhere fast. They're working on island time there.

Side note: I worked fast food as my first job for a few years, so usually I'd feel some sympathy, but not so much in...
