PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE DINING AT MARQUEE.
This review is to share the absolute disappointment my family experienced at Marquee Steakhouse on New Years Eve.
My Wife, Son, Father, Mother-in Law and I were booked in through a reservation for dinner. In advance of our reservation I had called and spoke with the owner Diana about the ability to see if they would accommodate a request to be seated in a particular area of the restaurant. When we arrived we were seated at a table right beside the kitchen. The smoke from the cooking, the noise and the traffic made this feel very uncomfortable for us all. After advising the host we were informed that we could be moved to their upstairs seating. Once moved upstairs our table was set beside their hired guitarist. When I say beside I mean the end of the guitar was about a foot from my head.
Given our tables location to the guitarist we literally had to shout to each other to be able to hear each other speak. I have no problem with the guitarist as he was hired to perform but in all honesty his style of music was more fitting to a pub and not a fine dinning restaurant charging $139 per person. Total miss in terms of style and volume of music. Think folk, stringy southern guitar sound. Not fine dinning sound.
After voicing our concerns with the owner, Diana and staff the most important point here is we felt our request was met with resistance and little to no understanding of just how unpleasant of an experience this was.
Here are a few other annoyances:
After waiting 20 minutes for our bill it came with the following: inaccurate charges, over charges, an automatic gratuity charge of 18% for a large party when we were a party of 5 and did not include the deposit return we had initially made when we booked our reservation (a deposit was required upon securing the reservation) and lastly, the restaurant promoted a price of $139 for Main Room Dinning (Main Floor) and $125 for Lounge Dinning (2nd Floor Lounge) and of course we were all charged $139 for the Main Room Dinning even though we were seated upstairs in their âSecond Floor Loungeâ as described in their own website.
When we raised this concern with the owner, Diana she literally shrugged her shoulders and said âI am sorry have a good nightâ I have never experienced in my life a scenario like this where an owner would not correct their mistake. If I was dinning without our 7 year old son I would have refused to pay this amount because it was blatantly wrong. Even our waiter agreed with our point and felt we should have been charged the $125 per person based on us sitting in the second floor lounge.
The owner of this restaurant has zero integrity and does not understand the importance of fixing her own mistakes and was totally fine with incorrectly charging customers.
Diana, you lack the ability to connect with your customers and to listen to their concerns. Up until this point we were repeat customers on multiple occasions even being recognized by your staff when we walked in to the restaurant. Needless to say we will never return. This treatment and gauging prices will put you out of business.
I hope this feedback will resonate with other future guests. Do not spend your money here as they do not provide the âfine dinningâ experience they charge for and do not demonstrate that they value...
Read moreWhether you're planning a special event, or just looking for a beautiful spot to enjoy an unforgettable meal, we wholeheartedly recommend the Marquee House! We canât say enough good things about our experience working with Diana and Serdj, who own and run the venue with so much heart and thoughtfulness.
We recently held our wedding there on the patio and in the upper room, and from the very beginning, Diana and Serdj were incredibly responsive, flexible, and generous with their time. They patiently walked us through every detail, answered our endless questions, and met with us whenever we neededâoften late in the evening to accommodate our schedules. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt supported and at ease throughout.
The venue itself is stunningâfull of character, warmth, and charm. Our guests couldnât stop talking about how beautiful the space was. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance: relaxed yet professional, joyful yet grounded. Weâand our guestsâwere treated with such care and respect, which speaks volumes about how Diana and Serdj approach their work.
And the food. The food! They prepared an incredible spread of passed hors-dâoeuvres, gourmet pizzas, and charcuterie for our wedding, and it was phenomenal. Our guests were ravingâmany said it was among the best theyâd ever had. It was that rare combination of elevated and deeply satisfying, served with intention and generosity.
More than anything, we felt genuinely cared forâlike Diana and Serdj were personally invested in the experience we were creating. It never felt transactional; it felt like they truly wanted our day to be meaningful, and they absolutely delivered.
Weâre still glowing from our wedding, and the Marquee House played a huge role in making it so magical. If youâre looking for a unique event venue, or just a magical dinner out, that brings together beauty, warmth, and a deeply personal...
Read moreWe went to this place because of the 4.8 star reviews but got very disappointed unfortunately.
First of all, the atmosphere was nice. It's not a fine dining restaurant, but we were willing to spend the money on the expensive menu to be at the place with a good vibes. However, the food wasn't outstanding as it presented on the plate. Our cold octopus appetizer was very spicy and most of the spicyness was from a chilly paste which to me straight up blended chilly with minimum to no seasoning. The most disappointing part was the 10oz steak that we ordered rare and came out almost well done. We told the servers about it and they offered us a slice of cheese cake on the house to "fix" the issue with the steak. Maybe we should have straight up asked for a discount and moved on but we thougbt a expensive place like that wouls know how to handle the situation porperly. In my experience restaurants that claims to be a steak house, charge $75 for a steak and cook it completely wrong should never make the customer pay full price for it but we got a slice of cheese cake that properly costs the restaurant a few dollars. Now this might be because the servers didn't want to bring this up to the management because discount means smaller bills and smaller tips. We still paid full price, left 20% tips just to show that money is not the key thing here. It's about how to make the customers happy. Really hope that the management will handle this properly with...
