Order was placed for 4 adults, 3 toddlers and 1 6 year old. Chicken hakkah noodles Green curry chicken general toa chicken Chowmein SPecial ( shrimp/chicken)
total $55 roughly.
Noodles, were a hit with the kids - i found them to be more like eddies in Mississauga, good portion size - kids and adults were able well enough and have seconds. We ordered without veggies. A little greasy but overall the kids enjoyed. They were not spicy. Compared to Royal Gardern, whos noodles were a little thicker.
Green Curry chicken - it was on the spicy side, the chicken was broken into small pieces, which I did not like. there were way too much broccoli and cauliflower to hide the lack of chicken. I would have preferred if the pieces were cut in strips. Overall the dish was good and we enjoyed.
General Tso Chicken - Good flavor, again i found it was not enough chicken in the dish. The flavor was good and the gravy was tasty also.
chowmein - this was a deconstructed dish, which required us to mix all the goodness together. i would have to say this was a very tasty dish and I would definitely order this again. The chicken and shrimp were battered, and the sizes of the pieces were very generous. It also had some kick to it, so be careful to ask for non spicy.
Portion sizes compared to the ones at Royal garden and Eddies, are smaller - we were able to finish 90% of the food - they could increase the portion sizes and add some more meat, or use bigger containers. Royal garden food for example where we usually order from we can make a dnt in about 70% of the food and have a good amount left over for the next day.
Overall the service was good, our food was ready as promise and the owner also had a special for 30% off first time customers.
I am happy to finally have some competition in the market place for Hakkah Food in Milton, this will probably push both restaurants to be better.
i would def give them a try, and make sure to adjust to your spice level over the phone, as you don't want to burn your tongue wit heat.
Keep up the good work, will...
Read moreSo while trying to explore and discover the Halal Hakka Chinese restaurants in Milton, me and my family gave Premium Hakka House a chance. The menu was quite big and extensive with a lot of options which got us pretty excited. We ordered Sweet Corn Soup with Chicken and Hot & Sour with chicken as starters which were good in taste and very generous serving quantity. Now comes the main course.
First thing, the cutlery needs to be upgraded at the resturant, you dont serve rice and gravy with table spoons, you serve them with dish spoons. We experimented with Tandoori chicken rice which was very tasty, Chicken Schezun which didnt taste like anything except chicken and a thick red colored gravy, and Hakka Special Momo.
The tandoori chicken rice was great and we all really enjoyed trying something new. Schezuan was tasteless, when I say tasteless, I dont mean to say it was bad, but just no taste at all.
Here things get interesting. The Hakka Special Momo was supposed to come with 6 chicken momos, egg, soup and noddles. And this has never happened to me before, ever in my life, the serving came without noddles, like a menu item from the resturant menu that they must have prepared and served 10s of 1000s of times, they missed a critical ingredient of the dish. Its like having a cheese burger without cheese. Upon bring this to the nice gentleman at the reception’s notice who was managing the operations at the resturant, he apologized and then said we told the kitchen and wont happen next time. Upon insistance and complaining, he promised to give us a discount on our next trip subject to if the owner allows it. Thats a little sad to hear that the person who is running the operations at place in the absence of the owner does not have enough authority delegated by the owner to handle a such a situation immediately in the best possible way he can.
It could have been a great experience because I think if in future we had tried new stuff we would have enjoyed, but given my experience with resturant and how matters were being conducted, its...
Read moreI'm dying... really!!! I've been to maybe over 1400 places in the past 7 years (including attractions, functions, events, restaurants, bars, airports, hotels, lounges...) and I am at a loss for places to try in Milton Ontario!!!
Milton has become my kryptonite to my FoodieWaze!!! I'm trying every place to just find one place I can call my go to Milton place!
I was chatting with an associate and she told me there was a HAKKA Place and they had specials too! I'm down with that!!! I love my Hakka food back in the GTA. I must try this place. Made my way immediately and walked on it. Let's talk ambiance... hmmm.... Nope.. LOL.
Was going to place an order and do take out but the place was kinda empty so I decided to do the right thing. Sit down and be a patron! Then again, I've had horrible luck being one of the only diners in a place... EEK! Let's hope this is diff right!?!
The place is large for a Hakka restaurant. Most places are small and concentrate on pumping out take out at $10 a head. Well... I can tell you, I had about $10 worth of food here. That's the extent of it.
The Chilli Chicken was off - the chicken itself tasted "chickeny" you know the odd taste when it's around the best before date and deep frying it and disguising it in a peppery gravy didn't disguise it kinda way... You know.. right!!! LOL! The hot and sour soup was ok, the tiny spring roll was the standard frozen one - just in case you were asking.
Overall, was it better than a McDump Combo for the same bucks. Yes, almost anything is better than...
