Ordered online for New Year's Eve and was told by the system that my pick-up time would be determined when the kitchen confirmed the order. It was confirmed immediately and I was given 35min until my pick-up time. I arrived on time and had to wait an additional 45min. I get it - NYE is a busy night - but the service being given was horrible. Telling customers that have ordered hours, or even a whole day, in advance "What do you want me to do?" is absurd. It's your responsibility as a business owner to be prepared and to be honest with your customers about the timing of their orders. Many customers were told "another 5 or 10 minutes" but then ended up waiting 15 or more. You explained to me that you were using lesser experienced staff to augment your line on the busy night, and I get that, but someone still needs to manage them to success and that wasn't happening. The kitchen was chaos - disorganized and inefficient. The one person calling the orders could barely keep it together. No one was dedicated to expediting to make sure that orders got out in a timely and organized fashion. A few orders (delivery and pick-up) had "one more item still to come" that was purely a result of the entire order not being well organized and expedited. I hope this was a wake-up call for where you need improvements inside the kitchen as it seems other lower ratings you've received (on non-busy nights) point to similar problems.
That said, the food was pretty good, but mixed temperatures by the time I got it. The "medium" wings were more sweet than spicy and not a traditional "medium buffalo" spice that you'd expect. The "thai" sauce was great. My "mostly drums" request didn't seem to matter as I got a pretty standard mix of "drums" and "banjos". The "extra crispy" was good.
I'd order again, but if the efficiency of the kitchen isn't improved, I won't bother again. Good...
Read moreWalking into the restaurant I could instantly tell what type of vibe they were going for. The arcade machine along with the seating made it feel like a nice restaurant to sit in and enjoy some wings with a group of friends. The service could have been a bit better, I felt that the man working at the counter was trying to rush me because he was in the middle of a conversation with his friends which I didnt mind that much. My food took about 15 minutes to be served, I feel like it could have been a bit faster if they tried but I wasn’t in a rush. Luckily it was worth the wait. The chicken bites were cooked to near perfection internally; it was juicy and tender with a beautiful mild bbq sauce glaze. My only problem was that the chicken wasn’t as crispy as I was hoping and there just was not as many bites as I expected. Although I did order the regular size for around $11, I did not anticipate such a small serving of chicken. The potato wedges were so crisp, each bite was just pure bliss. They were excellently salted on the exterior but lacked a bit on the insides; without any dipping sauce they were a bit dry. The carrots and celery complimented everything very nicely and tasted nice and fresh. And lastly the buttermilk ranch, what is their not to say about the ranch. Everything was just elevated to another level once it was dipped inside. Overall this was a great meal and I will be returning to this restaurant...
Read moreWe have enjoyed Wings Up occasionally for many years, and found they offered the juiciest and plumpest wings around, at least that was the case prior to Covid.
Well, tonight we ordered through Uber Eats, taking advantage of their 2 for 1 offer of one pound of wings.
I cannot express the absolute shock at the size of the wings! Eight shrunken wings, normally priced on Uber at $27.99 a pound which is $3.50 EACH. To be certain i wasn't over reacting, we placed them on a scale...less than one half of a pound per each "one pound" box. I am a cook, I know there is shrinkage, but NEVER over 50%!! When I called Wings Up, to give them the opportunity to correct what I thought must have been an innocent oversight, the employee contacted the manager and his response was basically that this is normal and it may have shrunk more during delivery! I was told to contact Uber, who then told me this type of error is the restaurant's to correct.
I have never written a negative review online for any business, since I have a lot of grace for hard working people, but tonight I am letting my fellow Miltonians know what to expect for their hard earned money. If you have money to burn, be certain to order a minimum of 2 pounds at Wings Up for every 1 pound of disappointing wings you wish to serve. We don't have that kind of money to waste, so this restaurant will be permanently removed from...
