We were craving Polish food and decided to come here based on the reviews. They were serving hot meals from the counter where you get to choose your options.
Our server seemed to be in a bad mood and looked very disinterested in us. However, she seemed fine with others. While we were ordering, she started talking to her colleagues, ignoring us completely. This happened more than once.
Finally, we ordered a chicken schnitzel meal, fish meal and a pork hamburger along with our favourite salads - sauerkraut, coleslaw and cucumber dill salad. We also ordered a large cappuccino.
The fish was the best pick, followed by chicken schnitzel, though the pieces seemed very small. The pork hamburger was very dry and our son didnāt like it much.
Our server forgot about our coffee order and we had to remind her when we saw others getting their coffee orders. She was unapologetic and didnāt care about us much.
Overall a disappointing experience, in spite of good food. I would never come back to this place and stick to my Polish favourite- Cafe Polonez in Toronto..They are always welcoming and take care to explain the dishes and suggest great options.
It is sad to see such a behaviour by the service staff which ruined our experience completely!! One star rating for giving us a horrible experience.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent for lunch here today as we wanted to try something new. I went with a coworker. So glad we did and we'll be going back. Feels like good home cooked food. I felt like having cabbage rolls or meatballs but neither were available and I didn't have time to wait for fresh made. I ended up ordering the pork chops, dumplings and 2 salads - beet root and cole slaw. The chops We're tender and juicy. The dumplings reminded me of something I ate as a child and loved. Beets are not my go to veg to order but I wanted something different. They were seasoned enough that the beets didn't taste like dirt - which is often my complaint about them. My co worker had the schnitzel and she said it was perfect. I think the food is kid friendly too. Perogies, dumplings and shredded veg that don't look like veg. I had leftovers and I look forward to going back for something else. I see the complaimts about the staff. There was 1 woman who who seemed annoyed by our presence but she treated the Eastern European men behind us just the same. I think this is a personality flaw rather than a hate for job. She just doesn't possess the people skills to be front of house. Don't let her get you down. In the end, you get good food from clearly a successful...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is a nice and cozy place. Here's some numbers to give you a better idea:
Food visually: 8/10 Food taste: 8/10 Atmosphere: Cozy 8/10 Drinks: Lots of options 9/10 Drinks taste: coffee was very strong 5/10 no options to change it. Also the milk is left at in the open and is now warm. Staff's Friendliness: 3 / 10, no smiles, no suggestions, no customer service conversations. Payment options: there's a machine so you can pay with debit or credit card (possibly) I've always paid cash here.
There's also a sign on the bathroom in polish referring to $0.5, a customer said you have to pay $0.5 to use the washrooms? What? LoL don't know if it was a joke or not but if it was not a joke then....
Overall, you should try this place, it's really worth a shot. I've been coming here since grade 10, I enjoy the food. If it's not your first time here you will understand, if it's your first time coming here depending on the staff member you get you might have a great experience. But the staff are not rude or anything, I just have much higher standards for customer service than this...
