I liked the variety and food selection its my first time going there. I think its covet19 i would of given them a better rating. Definitely not coming again until then we will see if covet19 can make lives a little better. First of all we completely understand covet19 how under false government tactics we as “good citizens” choose to become “ sheep” for good medical gangs jointly hand in hand with other cooperates to use influenza like airborne diseases ie “SARS” to fake 8 billion unproven vaccines.
Its sad when restaurants also use these opportunities to make more money. In this case that was my experience being here, restaurants can only make money if they can can get ride of clients once paid and finish eating and emptying tables and seats so that new table can be made available for the new customers.
Once we entered showed our vaccination proof and management team of The village Taste tells us to wait. Once we did that soon within mins waiter showed us our cleaned up table. We sat waiter asked us if we are aware of 1.5 hour seating only policy. I mean usually an average time 1.5-3 hours to sit and eat with family outside should not be dictated. Even if best food in the world if appetite is killed right when food is ready, That food means nothing anymore.
No complaints from food services however my request from management team, please don’t kill appetite by clearly telling customers they only have 1.5 hours only to be in the table. Lets try to make customers feel comfortable and reminding them a welcoming environment. We definitely felt bad by coming here because of what happened today was a new experience. Asking customers to get ready for paying on table or front counter. But rather leave that for customers to decide otherwise why came out to eat but rather order delivery in home services.
Another humble request if staff are not just walking randomly only pretending to be looking for empty plates, but rather wait only to be signaled or called upon. Because its kind of like rushing customers to swallow food with chewing.
Loved the food thats is something that i may do change my mind about coming here again. Clean well prepared food should be goven 5 stars.but unfortunately i had bad experience today. Nothing of bad bad behavior. Everyone was just reasonably polite, just that rushing business is something that bothered our family and ruined our day for eating outside.
Putting a clear notice in front of door they will definitely realize decrease in customers will indicate that rushing is not favorable thing to do specially with food. If timing table seriously was a thing of new lets charge us for timing to stay more in the table…but please don’t kill...
Read moreGreat value for a breakfast buffet , hospitable host ( Faisal and Fayyaz) much cleaner than continental ever was and a place to pray.
Positive For 14.99 the food was mostly good or above average. I won’t say that each dish was the best you will get but for a buffet the food was hot the place was clean and everyone had their choice of food.
The Nihari was a 6/10 because I prefer it more spicy , so it was above average but not as some reviewers described it as being horrible. Moreover the owners asked us what we thought and said they are tweaking their recipe as the masala is grounded in-house. I guess most of us relate to Shan masala when we think Nihari so this was not that.
The naans, paratha, and puri were all hot and they were promptly getting new servings. So that was great.
The rest of the gravy’s were mostly good except for the saag, we didn’t care too much about that.
We are glad that this place had a separate place for prayers as that is a constant problem in restaurants and I am not sure how you make a halal restaurant and don’t account for that.
Cleanliness , I have to mention this as that was the single biggest issue with continental. The restaurant felt clean and was clean. Let’s hope it stays that way in the long term.
Negative
The saag was definitely our least favourite. Maybe not the taste we are used to. In general we felt it was a bit oily , but I guess that’s expected when you start with a puri and end with paya.
The seating , although they have ample space the seating sections almost feel like multiple smaller restaurants and not in a good sense. We were a part of 9 and they had to accommodate us on multiple tables that couldn’t not be joined as the booths are fixed , so maybe food for thought for the management. Event if they could get the tables together the seating section gets crowded quick.
Kids section and sweet , I think it might be useful if some dishes were switched with kid friendly dishes , kids are generally fussy and don’t really like desi as much.
@ 14.99 it doesn’t break your wallet but it isn’t cheap either. Worth a visit if you are a group and everyone wants to try different things.
My review would have been a 4/5 because of value and experience but went with 5 because they were open to suggestions and criticism. Will visit another time to see if things...
Read moreSeptember 15, 2024 We dine here at an average once a month. Had 3 functions in their halls in last 1 year too. Food is getting better with every visit & buffet management is amazing too. They have added few new dishes including my favorite "Palak chicken"
April 22, 2022. Best Iftar buffet in Mississauga. Separate prayer areas for ladies & gents. Iftar items were amazing. Given the large indoor buffet area & despite being at full capacity, the queue at the buffet were quite quick. Dinner was amazing, all dishes were fresh & hot. Very good selection of desserts 🍨
Sep. 5, 2020. They are open now. Glad to see high level of precautions, COVID related SOPs & sanitization standards observed. Food quality is amazing as usual. We went on breakfast buffet that is served & refilled on the table which is even better as it is fresher & on demand. Price is very reasonable for a large selection (16.99 for adults & 10.99 for kids 3-8yrs)
My first comments almost a year ago are below:
One of the best buffett place in Mississauga for breakfast & dinner. Had family group dinner on their first day & today had a breakfast buffett. This is a completely renovated place that justifies the "village" part of the name. As for taste goes, they have a great one. They have introductory price going on that is 14.99 for breakfast & 19.99 for dinner buffet. Breakfast has good variety comprising Nehari, Paya, Saag, halwa puri, Chanay, omlete, paratha & best part is lassi that is served cold & sweet at the table. There is no place, at least in Mississauga, that offers these many items in breakfast. compared to other very crowded places for breakfast buffet this place offers lots of seating capacity as well as party rooms for...
