Visited Chai Paratha with my family and left extremely disappointed. Despite attempting a reservation, my wife was told walk-ins were fine. Yet we waited 8–10 minutes just to be acknowledged at the reception, then another 5 to be seated, ironically at a “reserved” table. We waited 15 more minutes with no menus, water or napkins. I eventually got up and fetched them myself while also wiping down our oily, crumb covered table with napkins myself. After another 15 minutes, our order was finally taken: 2 Chicken Tikka, 1 Nehari, 2 Kebabs (4 pcs), 2 Paratha, 3 Naan, and 2 Karak Chai. Around 10 minutes later, we were informed that Nehari, one of the main items we came for (and a highlight for my kids) wasn’t available!! and there were only limited gravy options. Disappointed, we reluctantly switched to 2 Qeema gravies instead! (Saw a few families leave once they informed others the same, this should've been communicated when you are placing an order!) Then began a disjointed and frustrating food service (despite the fact that we could see that there were 2 to 3 empty tables and the restaurants wasnt full). The items trickled in across three separate rounds to my disappoinment: First round: 2 Parathas and Chicken Tikkas were served, with no sign of Naan or anything else. Since the kids were hungry and had waited long enough, they started eating with what was available. Second round: After another reminder, we received 1 Naan and the 2 Kebabs. Still incomplete, but we began eating anyway. A few minutes later, the Qeema plates finally arrived. To their credit, staff also gave us a small portion of Nehari gravy (without meat) as a goodwill gesture. Third round: We had to remind the staff again for the remaining 2 Naan, which didn’t arrive until 10 minutes after we had finished the rest of the bread. At that point, we asked them to add one more Naan to avoid further delays. Thankfully, they brought the remaining Naans together. Post-meal, we waited again—for someone to clear the table and bring our Karak Chai. Eventually, we reminded the staff, when the tea came in disposable cups, my wife requested lids to take them to-go. They never arrived!! After waiting 10 more minutes, we left—still disappointed—and paid at the entrance. No tip was left, and for good reason (the manager looked disappointed, and I was hoping he'd say something regarding Zero Tip, but luckily for them, they didn't! ) Food was average overall: Chicken Tikka: 2/5 (very salty) Kebabs: 4/5 (their best item) Qeema: 2.5/5 (also salty but manageable with raita/salad) Paratha & Naan: 3/5 (would’ve been great if served on time)

This visit left a bitter aftertaste. While I’ve had good experiences here before, the decline in service quality is alarming. I’ve always supported halal restaurants, but this one is now off my list!! . Hope they seriously work on...

Chai Paratha in Mississauga : Nostalgic Pakistani Flavors That Hit Home

If you’ve ever missed the taste of real Pakistani food — Chai Paratha in Mississauga might just bring it all rushing back. Tucked away in the busy food scene of Mississauga , Chai Paratha doesn’t scream “fancy,” but it absolutely delivers where it counts: flavor, comfort, and proper desi vibes.

What I Ordered (And Loved):

🐔 Chicken Malai Boti
Tender, creamy, and perfectly grilled. The smoky flavor combined with the soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture made this an instant favorite. It had that proper BBQ magic without being overly spicy. This included a side of salad and a side of their dipping sauce which consisted of tamarind and cilantro. What a banging sauce.

🥘 Nihari
This one hit deep. The beef was fall-apart soft, and the gravy was rich, bold, and full of flavor. It brought back memories of family breakfasts with naan, just like in Dubai (Ravi Karachi Darbar, Daily and Delhi Qila restaurant).

🍞 Naan
Soft, warm, and slightly crispy on the edges — exactly what you need to scoop up that nihari or wrap around a piece of boti. Simple, but done right. 🍗 Quarter Leg Piece
Juicy, flavorful, and a classic that never fails. The spices were just enough to give it a nice kick without going overboard.

☕ Karak Chai
And of course — the karak chai. No meal here feels complete without it. Strong, slightly sweet, and served hot in the perfect little cup. The kind of chai that makes you pause mid-conversation and just sip in silence for a second. Definitely the real deal.

The Vibe: It’s not trying to be trendy or overdone. It’s comfortable, laid-back, and familiar. Whether you're there with friends, family, or just flying solo, it feels like a place where the food speaks louder than the decor.

Final Thoughts: Chai Paratha isn’t reinventing anything — it’s reminding you of everything you miss. From smoky BBQ to slow-cooked nihari and that perfect karak chai, this place knows exactly what it's doing.

And yes — I wish I had photos to show you all the hot, delicious food coming straight out of the kitchen, but honestly? I was too caught up in the aroma, the flavors, and the experience. Everything came out fresh and piping hot, served as soon as it was ready. Sometimes, it’s better to enjoy the food than pause for the camera.

Would I go back? 100%. Next time, I’m eyeing the Karahi Keem with their Laccha paratha — and probably another round of chai.

Service: The staff at Chai Paratha were polite, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. They struck that perfect balance — attentive without being pushy, and always ready to help with a smile. It adds a personal touch that makes the experience even more enjoyable. And thank you to Harmandeep for...

Chai Paratha: A Flavor Haven in Mississauga, Canada

Nestled in the bustling city of Mississauga, Canada, Chai Paratha is not just a restaurant; it's a flavorful journey that transcends borders and brings the authentic flavors of South Asian cuisine to your table. With an ambiance that resonates with the vibrancy of a traditional dhaaba, this eatery promises an experience that is both unique and delightful.

Ambiance and Serving Style The moment you step into Chai Paratha, you're greeted by an ambiance that skillfully replicates a dhaaba-style setting. The most striking feature is their ingenious serving style – tea presented in quaint little truck trays, reminiscent of the street-side tea stalls found in the bustling streets of Pakistan / Indian cities. This creative touch adds an element of nostalgia and authenticity to the dining experience.

The Gastronomic Adventure Our gastronomic adventure at Chai Paratha was nothing short of spectacular. We embarked on this flavorful journey with a variety of dishes:

Lachedar Paratha: The parathas here are a masterpiece in themselves. Crisp, thick, and bursting with flavor, they are the perfect accompaniment to every dish on the menu.

Fried Kabab: A bite into the fried kabab and you're transported to the historic lanes of Karachi or Lucknow. The spices and cooking technique perfectly encapsulate the essence of these regions.

Qeema Karahi: A standout dish, the qeema karahi, had a lustrous consistency with thick, succulent pieces of qeema. Its flavors were both robust and soothing, especially when paired with the lacha parathas.

Nihari: This slow-cooked and most loved dish was a perfect blend of spices and tender meat, creating a rich tapestry of flavors.

Veal Biryani The veal biryani at Chai Paratha offered an intriguing tangy twist on the traditional recipe, skillfully infused with achari masala and complemented by fancy raita and delectably soft potatoes. While this biryani was undoubtedly delicious, a slight reduction in the tanginess from the achari masala could enhance its appeal, perfectly balancing the rich flavors.

Rabri: A perfect end to the meal, the rabri was a creamy delight with thick consistency best enjoyed with lacha paratha.

Tea: Perfect is the only word.

Conclusion Chai Paratha in Mississauga is more than just a restaurant; it's a celebration of flavors, cultures, and traditions. The fusion of traditional recipes with a touch of modernity makes it a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts. We wish the owners of Chai Paratha the best of luck and look forward to more such delightful culinary...

I am going to split the review into two sections: the first focusing on food and the second on the overall experience. Food: We ordered the 5 Chicken Tikka Platter, Nihari, Biryani, a platter with Paratha, Chana, Tawa Qeema, achar and, plain Naan on the side followed by Karak chai. My dead honest itemised review on food; 1. Tikka Platter - 3/5 - (good, but you can find way more authentic and juicy Karachi style Tikka at Karachi Kabab Wala and a few other joints in GTA) 2. Nihari - 5/5 - (actually pretty good and impressively served with dedicated burner to keep it warm) 3. Biryani - 1/5 - (below average, uncooked potatoes, plenty of room for improvement. One Ten Grill N More and Dera Biryani offers what a biryani should be) 4. Tawa Qeema - 5/5 - (great taste, quantity is way too little, wouldn’t hurt to add more for the price) 5. Paratha - 2/5 - (tons of room for improvement, parathas were thick and rubbery) 6. Chana - 4/5 - (very well cooked) 7. Chai - 2/5 - (below average, over priced) 8. Karak Chai - 4/5 - (too overly priced, doesn’t need to be $6.99 for a cup of Karak chai) Experience: Excited and hyped by the social media posts, we decided to visit Chai Paratha last week. We drove from London, Ontario which is a solid two hour drive and made it to the joint an hour after Iftar time. The restaurant was almost empty as most of the guests were already gone after iftar dinner. Place has a nice vibe, plenty of traditional decor creating a perfect nostalgic experience of Pakistani culture. We met Tahir, the owner and were then seated and served. After dinner, as we proceeded to checkout, we met the owner again and we appreciated him for his work and creativity, but it was met with a very cold response. I thought maybe I read the situation incorrectly. So, I tried another small talk and I told him that we travelled all the way from London, to which there was another round of unfriendly response. This time it became more awkward. We asked about their second location and appreciated their social media posts that actually drew us to the restaurant to which he said, ‘it’s not me it’s my twin brother, he makes it’ yet again in a very cold tone while on his phone editing his video that he had just recorded. After reading the comment, the owner would know what we are talking about and all I have to say is, come on, you can do better. You have to be better when you do business, you cannot treat people differently when you run a public business. Thank you!
