A Disappointing Experience at Thai Cuisine Experts – Mississauga
I had high hopes for this place based on its 4-star Google reviews, but unfortunately, my instincts about an empty restaurant were correct.
Ambience & Cleanliness The restaurant was completely empty when we arrived, which was already a red flag. The interior had an old, tired vibe, though it was at least clean enough that you could put your arms on the table without feeling anything sticky.
Service & Timing We ordered crispy fries as a starter while waiting for our main dishes, but they arrived with the main course—or at least part of it. Our order included Pad Thai, Veg Original Thai Fried Rice, Red Curry, and Penang Curry.
The curries and white rice, along with the fries, came out within 15-20 minutes.
The Pad Thai and fried rice arrived 10-12 minutes later, by which time the curries had gone lukewarm, if not cold.
Food Quality & Taste This is where things went from bad to horrible.
When the Pad Thai arrived, it smelled awful—like food cooked on an old, unclean pan or a kitchen towel that had been overused and started to stink. We had the server smell it, and she acknowledged the issue, so we sent it back without asking for a replacement. (We were offered one, but we refused).
Then, the fried rice came out—and unbelievably, it had the exact same smell. At this point, we were in complete disbelief.
We didn’t want to take any risks, so we packed up the curries (the only dishes that seemed remotely edible), paid the full bill—including the returned dishes, and for the first time in my life, I left zero tip.
Post-Dining Regret Even after leaving, we were so uneasy about the meal that we ended up throwing out the food we had taken home. We didn’t know if the issue was a dirty kitchen, bad ingredients, or something worse. To top it off, our stomachs started rumbling, so we made a quick stop at Shoppers Drug Mart for Pepto Bismol.
Final Verdict This was, hands down, the worst Valentine’s Day dining experience we’ve ever had. The food was questionable, the service was disorganized, and the overall experience was disappointing. I wish I had trusted my instincts and walked out when I saw an empty dining room.

Read moreWas in the area and a friend had recommended their Dundas St. location. Thought since it's the same name, let's support a local business (instead of going for a location of a national chain name.)
Went in and put in an order of green curry with vegetables and tofu for a take out today. Was told it will take around 10 - 15 minutes - took way less. (🔔 ringing already...)
Noticed the person (at the front) finished with the payment and then started to heat up something. Here I am thinking that doesn't look right, the curry is all ready in like 2 minutes since I paid? (more 🔔!) Talk about preparing fresh food (see their description on-line - have attached a snapshot of it.)
Reached home and tried to eat this for dinner.
Where to begin with the issues I had...
The "green curry" is mostly a soup like consistency with some veggies and raw tofu.
It didn't have the veggies that are listed in their menu (e.g. no eggplant). They could have mentioned this at the time of placing the take out order so there is an option for the customer to make a change if needed. Yeah, great customer service.
A request for medium spicy was with the addition of chili flakes. [🤔 Since when have chili flakes replaced fresh (Thai) hot chilies / hot chili paste?]
The "curry" was not even warm (that reheating didn't work so well, eh?) and the "jasmine" rice was cold and dry.
Tried to have this for dinner but couldn't - just not tasting right.
Pls, at the least, make fresh, real Thai food that is hot (temperature wise), not some watery base with some veggies, pieces of raw tofu, chili flakes thrown in as an afterthought and that doesn't taste good (off taste). Have shared this with my friend who had recommended their other location - maybe things are different at that location?
Thai cuisine experts indeed.
Would not recommend.
PS Don't go near the light fixtures over the booths - you would be surprised to see...
Read moreI hate to give negative reviews to local businesses, but the food here was so bad I have to. Maybe it was just the cook on the specific day I went there (May 14 afternoon), but the Phad Thai tasted nothing like how it's supposed to. It was so overtly sweet and saucey with nearly any veggies and no Thai aromatics, only the chicken was decent. Looks nothing like the other pictures here. I'm not sure how they can call themselves Experts in Thai cuisine. Even westernized fast food Thai chains like Thai Express taste more authentic than here. Another customer ordered chili chicken, and after he got his food, the cook tells him he's experimenting with a new recipe so let him know. Shouldn't that be something you tell the customer BEFORE they order? He's lucky that customer was nice and liked it. On top of that, it took more than 20 minutes to get my food when no one was ahead of me and only that one other customer was there after me.
I also noticed they asked that other customer to give them a Google review for a discount for their Cheesecake Factory slices. So that could explain the high reviews on here.
Looking at the photos here, I noticed that the staff is completely different from years ago, so I'm guessing they got new management and staff over the years. Which could also explain the consistent detailed high reviews back then...
