Date: Aug 30, 2023 So reluctantly my family and I returned to DSPot, near Dixie Road and Eglington, to celebrate some family milestones. The kids were excited and we were looking forward to putting our past bad experience at this establishment behind us. We ordered a bunch of items, savoury and sweet. One item we ordered was the PB and Me skillet for $15.95. As the food all arrived we were eating and enjoying. The skillet arrived last as it takes 20 minutes to prepare. We started eating the skillet and got about 1/4 of the way into the dish before we found a hair in the dish. We alerted to female employee dressed all in black, who handled the last hair incident we had here, as she is part of upper management. She briskly told us that she would get the supervisor. She didn't apologize, didn't talk to us or anything like that. Just quickly said that she would get the supervisor. When the supervisor arrived, he was apologetic and asked us how we would like to be compensated. We told him that we do not want the dish and we would like to have the dish removed from our bill. The Supervisor said he cannot do that, he offered us a replacement dish or 50% off the cost of the dish. We were astonished at the lack of compassion for our disgusting experience. We asked to speak to the manager and the Supervisor said the manager was not there. We asked the Supervisor to call the Manager and the Supervisor said that he could not call the Manager. We told the Supervisor that his offer for compensation was ridiculous and not industry standard. He went away to talk to some people and came back and offered us 50% off the dish again, saying that this was their policy. The dish was about $16 so he offered about $8. After we had spent about $100 so far, we felt this was a joke. I asked him, if he went to a restaurant and found a hair in his food, what would he expect as compensation? He said he would expect for that dish to be removed from his bill. However, he said, their policy was to not fully compensate customers for the dish if there was an issue with the dish. At this point, we were so shocked that we could not fathom how a restaurant could blatantly not follow industry standard practices to make their customers experience pleasurable when food was served containing hair. So we did some quick math and explained to the Supervisor that we would not leave any tip to make up for the rest of the cost of the dish that was not compensated. He acknowledged our comment and that is how we settled the bill. Going forward, I don't think I will be going back to this establishment. There are other dessert places around that have similar desserts and better customer service. Melt N Dip in the plaza by Ninth Line and Eglington in Mississauga is where we will now go for desserts. This place is amazing. There are photos attached of the hair we received in our PB and Me at DSPot or should it be called HSPot (Hair Spot).

Never been so dissapointed at the service before. This place is usually amazing when it comes to service because they know how important it is making sure the customer is happy. Today I felt the opposite with the server and the "owner". I went with a group of 6 people and at the time we walked in around 6:45, there were only 2-3 tables taken and the whole resturant was empty which is good because it's always jammed packed. My friends ordered pizzas and I ordered a poutine. Time of the order was around 7pm. While talking, at around 7:15ish my friends pizzas come (3 of them). 10 mins later no sign of my poutine coming. Around 7:35 after all my friends were DONE their food, still no sign of my poutine, then we told one of the servers that we are waiting for 1 more item which hasn't arrived, around 7:40 the server comes and says "sorry it's going to take around 5-10 more minutes to make because they are "backed up in the kitchen". Meanwhile the resturant started to fill up and other people who came 20-30 minutes after us started to get their food. At that point I told the server to cancel my order because all my friends were done eating, their was no point in me eating infront of them, but the server insured it'll come soon. Around 7:45 my poutine came and I was upset because everyone knows it doesn't take 45 mins to make a poutine, just say you forgot it, no need to lie about the kitchen being "backed up" when it was literally empty in the store when we placed our orders. 45 minutes waiting for this "tandoori chicken poutine" to come and oh my god it was horrendous. The chicken was bland and did not taste "tandoori" at all which sucks because I want to taste what the name says. Whatever it's a dessert spot I'm not expecting much when it comes to food. Now at the end I told the server I wanted to talk to the manager because this was unacceptable and he was nice about it and went to bring the manager. When he went to the manager it was actually the owner which was even better because he would know how poor customer service is not something to be taken lightly. After talking to the owner, the sever came back and said "we don't have a manager in at the moment, and I can't do anything about your experience because this happens, our kitchen gets backed up with lots of orders (it was empty when we placed our order) so we're sorry your food took longer than expected. Lies after lies is unacceptable, as the owner u should try to fix the situation rather than lying and making the customer leave happy and satisfied. Never going back to this location again. It's like they don't even care about customer service anymore.

If you’re looking to die from an overdose of sugar or to fast track an impeding lifelong battle with diabetes then d spot is the place for you. I mean the place is called D spot which probably means diabetes spot. But I say this in the most positive way possible. We were served by our boy sumar. He was very patient and very respectful as if he was working for the United Nations and we were the United States, getting ready to eat our school lunches because American high schoolers eat cake instead of vegetables. I digress. The menu is actually really clever, it’s like a chapter book with multiple chapters to go through with a likkle story to follow. The options were endless, waffles, ice cream, fudge brownies. It was too good to be true. We ordered the pan cookie ferro Roche, Belgian waffle with a slab of a brownie on top and a lotus cookie parfait. Over all everything was really good. Except for the parfait. You have to like parfaits to like parfaits. I told our boy Sumar I didn’t like the parfait. He was apologetic. We both started crying and promised to do better in our lives. This is why I don’t get parfaits. It unlocks deep disturbing insecurities that I haven’t faced since childhood. Sumar was so good of an employee, that he unlocked his deep dark insecurities with me and we cried together. Damn you Lotus parfait. The bill was 66 dollars with tip. Yes I paid almost 100 dollars for deserts. It was defiantly worth it though believe me. After the night was finished, I went to grab my car and my girlfriend waited for me inside. There’s a small sidewalk walk way with a dip in the curb so you can walk out on the street. As a gentleman I drove up to pick up my girlfriend. I also drove up on to that dip in the sidewalk and then right up to the door on the sidewalk to Impress my girlfriend. The owner or manager of the d spot saw this and started running out at me and chasing my car lmao. Safe to say the management here are very professional and don’t take nicely to those kind of things. Anyways; 10/10 food 10/10 vibe 10/10 anger issues by that one manager or owner 10/10 Sumar

My overall rating (3.5 isn't an option Google provides so I bumped it up to 4) is reflective of my general experience at this location over the past few years while my food, service, and atmosphere ratings are specific to my latest visit, the one I am writing this review for.

I've been a customer of this D Spot for many, many years and have been happy with the overall quality of the food and service. However, my more recent visits have seen a decline in service quality by a tremendous amount.

When we first entered, we were quickly seated and given menus to look through. After deciding on our order, we called our server who took our order down, during which I requested if water could be brought to us. The server acknowledged the request and left. We waited some time only to see a group who came after us receive their water before we did. I had to walk up to the cashier to request water, which was then brought to us by our server a little while later.

As we waited for our food, the number of people waiting to be seated continued to increase and if you've been to this location, you know the space between the entrance and the waiting area cannot accommodate large groups of people. Half of the restaurant was empty, indicating that there are numerous tables for these groups to be seated at. The lack of servers, which wasn't a problem many years ago, prevented these paying customers from being seated in a timely manner.

Quick side note: The right half of the restaurant is almost always empty as servers indicate that the tables are reserved. The problem is, I almost never see anyone there. Today, there was a group but they were definitely not occupying the entire half, just a small section by the windows. It wasn't a problem during this visit as there were available tables on the left, this is just something I thought I would mention.

We watched as food and water was being distributed to customers, as well as tables being cleaned, and during this time, we did not witness gloves being changed between cleaning and serving. On top of that, when distributing water, the server would grab the cup from the top, where people drink from, and place them on the table, without distributing it amongst the customers. The food would be quickly placed and then the servers would run off without a word. Another time we witnessed a server carrying three cups without a tray which looked quite unprofessional, and honestly, unappealing.

Typically, our food comes out quickly but today it took quite some time, and when we were given our food (with one dish missing), we noticed that the fries were warm-cold, not hot, and utensils and napkins weren't given to us. Of course, with the server having run off, I couldn't reach them to ask for these items so I, once again, walked up to the cashier, where my server was, and requested these items. The server quickly grabbed them and was about to head to our table until I pointed out the missing dish which was just sitting there and asked, "is this mine?" They said yes and brought everything to the table.

In the past, servers could be flagged down and bills could be requested. The past year or two has proven to be the opposite as I now simply get up to pay at the front. As I did that today, I noticed so many employees just gathered around talking. Where were they when customers were standing at the entrance? I have absolutely no idea.

Was my party and I happy or even satisfied this visit? Absolutely not. It's unfortunate because we've come so many times and enjoyed ourselves but the past few visits have prompted me to leave this review. I really do hope that improvements will be made to the service as well as the food quality.

Let me just share a few positives of this location. The size of the restaurant is large and the space between each table is comfortable. It is not like other restaurants that try to fit as many seats as possible in the space, preventing ease of movement. Another amazing thing is the prayer space they have. A large area for congregants to...
