It is without a doubt that the food here, is good. It is what it is, and I’d say it’s average. One food item that stands out is the Dynamite Chicken, that’s what I think it was called. It has a unique flavour, chicken that is breaded with what I think is the tempura thing that shrimp tempuras are wrapped in.
However, the food’s quality has significantly decreased over a few months. It now costs $1 to get the what-used-to-be complimentary chip-things. This is very frustrating, as it highlights how this restaurant may be beginning to ‘cheap-out’. Quickly going over the service now, the staff were kind and gave things such as water and cutlery appropriately when requested. The food came quickly.
Now the atmosphere. The chairs, man, the chairs. I have never seen such dirty chairs in my life. Sitting on them made my skin crawl, so to speak. And all of them were like this. A picture has been attached below. Whose idea was it to get these chairs for a restaurant? I feel that they are a complete fool. To make things worse, all sorts of mysterious substances and crumbs have been shoved in the back of these chairs.
Next up is the washroom situation. There are three one-stall washrooms, one for handicapped individuals, one for men, and one for women, but in reality they are all the same, except the washroom for handicapped individuals is a bit larger and has a button to open it. Now here’s where things get seriously wrong. The doors are insanely heavy. The bar at the top has been calibrated in such a way where the door closes as fast as possible, applying maximal force just before the door closes. It seems as if it is about to slam the frame, but it slows down at the last moment. Now, the issue with this is that the floor inside is very slippery, and so pushing the door is like attempting to push a boulder while on ice. I kept slipping. It took me ten seconds to leave, and I was frustrated, to a great extent. Briefly, I’d like to point out that there was some interesting ambient music that set a calming mood for the restaurant, matching the restaurant’s theme.
In conclusion, consider flipping a coin when deciding on whether you would like to dine in, or go for take-out. However, I believe that it is better to take the food home and eat at your home if you are eating with close relatives, but if you are hosting a gathering, I suggest eating inside...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Ginsoy, the latest addition to Mississauga's vibrant culinary scene. From the moment I stepped in, the restaurant's modern ambiance and welcoming atmosphere set the stage for a memorable dining experience.
The service was impeccable, with attentive staff ready to assist and guide through the extensive menu. Speaking of the menu, Ginsoy offers a delightful fusion of traditional Chinese flavors with a twist that caters to diverse palates.
The menu boasts an impressive array of dishes, and each item we ordered surpassed our expectations. The Peking Duck Rolls were a perfect start—crispy and flavorful, a harmonious blend of textures. Moving on to the mains, the General Tso's Chicken was a standout, perfectly balancing sweetness and spice. The seafood options were equally impressive, showcasing the freshness of ingredients.
One notable aspect of Ginsoy is their commitment to catering to various dietary preferences. Vegetarians will find a selection that goes beyond the usual, with dishes that celebrate the flavors of plant-based ingredients.
The restaurant's commitment to presentation is evident in every dish. Each plate is a work of art, appealing to both the eyes and the palate. The portion sizes are generous, ensuring that every visit is a satisfying culinary journey.
While the dessert menu is relatively concise, the choices are well-curated. The Mango Sticky Rice was a delightful conclusion to our meal, providing a refreshing and subtly sweet note.
In conclusion, Ginsoy has successfully carved a niche for itself in Mississauga's culinary landscape. It's a place where the essence of Chinese cuisine meets innovation, and the result is a dining experience that leaves a lasting impression. Whether you're a fan of classic Chinese flavors or looking for something new and exciting, Ginsoy is...
Read moreGinsoy!! Have you ever tried Hakka Legend? You shoud try so you know what is Hakka chinese taste like. I am not sure why people line up here at Ginsoy 🤔?? Very surprised.
Also, why there is 4.1 star reviews? Looks like they have lots of friends and family in Canada!
Anyways, Service was very good, they took care of my complain professionally.... but... food was very low grade and taste less, very disappointing ... .... come on guys, why this Salan like taste in your food! The Chow mein noodles was not chow mein noddles, was like Maggie noodles! and was tasteless, which I complained about and they try to make it better but was still taste less, but at least they did try. Hot n sour soup has no vegetables, only carrot and green onion! What about other regular veggies go in this soup? Dry chilli fish was wiggly, no crisp at all and was so salty as well, portion size was very small as compare to other Chinese restaurant (not only Hakka Legend). Szeshuan chicken had only carrot and onions and very spicy with no Chinese flavors. Looks like people are just eating here because of the craze of this Ridgeway plaza and Pakisani style Chinese, but this is not Pakistani Chinese, I am from Karachi so I know the taste. I am really surprised with the taste that how come folks are liking this taste? Or since there are so many people that going even one time like myself, will make this place line up and people think we must try this.
I am sure if you go one time you will not go again. And guys.... try Hakka Legend if you really like Hakka Chinese food and you will know the difference. By the way, I am not Hakka Legend's promoter or anything, but the taste is good and I am going there for last almost 15 years.
Advise for Ginsoy (if you care) please change your...
