Frequent Hibachi Burlington often. Tried this location for Mother's Day (unfortunately, stick with what you know.)
Myself + daughter dined. It has smaller cooking tables than Burlington, very crowed at the table. I ordered the spring rolls, chicken set w/ upgrade to chicken fried rice, & my kid just wanted basic chicken fingers + fries, she's picky, but I wanted this for Mothers Day.
Our cook came, he introduced himself I cannot remember his name, (mid-late 20's perhaps India background, wearing what I believe is called a patka, apologizes if I'm incorrect). He went around the table to confirm orders, he got to myself & child, in a condescending way said, "winner, winner chicken dinner." He repeated our order aloud & said "you really like chicken & nothing else apparently." And laughed, yeah not very funny.
Just before he started cooking myself & kid slid our chairs back a bit as we were anticipating him lighting the grill into flames like they always do & we did see while waiting at this location. He NEVER DID, that's SO disappointing. He started to cook & asked about allergies/food sensitivity etc... practically everyone ordered a type of seafood (obv except us), I asked not to cook my meal w/ the seafood, he said he'd cook it after. As he's cooking, I said, "you didn't light the grill into flames". He VERY CONDESCENDING replied, "I will, just wait, this isn't my first rodeo". (š¬ yikes sorry I said something). I knew from experience that should've already been done. *He actually only did the fire onion volcano. While dinner is moving along, I keep asking our (M) server where my childs chicken fingers were, she received her small plate of fries w/ the sauce that I had asked not to add which ½ her fries were in. I ended up having to ask another (F) server & the (M) host for her meal, she didn't get her chicken until basically the very end just as our server was already asking the kids if they wanted ice cream. That's how long she waited, she hardly ate the fries bc of the sauce, & was upset as she was hungry & in turn making me upset. During this he was still cooking the chicken & steak, he looked at me & said, "I'll start the seafood here" & pointed to the empty area on the grill, I didn't want him to but bc he was already condescending to me twice, I wasn't interested in more from him, I just said, "ok" thinking the seafood won't touch the chicken & and there won't be seafood taste to my chicken (yes, it has a taste when you don't like it). Nope I was incorrect, he used the SAME COOKING TOOLS for both. I tried my chicken, it had a slight seafood taste to it (enough for me not to eat it.) My daughter is getting upset as I am. I asked for containers, the bill & machine. I paid very quickly & left in a hurry as my child was near breakdown.
The dinner experience was EXTREMELY LACKLUSTER AND MEH... he never lit the grill on fire, no egg catch into his hat, no squirting water out of a bottle that looks like a man is peeing onto the guests for a laugh, just broccoli toss, a bit of jokes, & a whole lot of banging the cooking tools against the table/grill.
I'll keep my business in Burlington.
Also it wasn't until later that night that I saw the charge on my credit card. I was shocked almost $100 he said he removed the charge for the chicken fingers. I called the restaurant for them to explain, I spoke to 3 people, then they had to call me back. He said they don't have chicken fingers at that location, huh? How did my child get them just as dinner was ending? How did I take them home & have a picture. They charged me for the fries =$8 which she never ate bc of the sauce & chicken karagge =$10 WHICH I NEVER EVEN ORDERED. I'll dispute those 2 charges with my credit card company!! My error as I should've checked my bill, oh & by accident I...

We had a reservation for a birthday yesterday for 10 people, (It was meant to be 14 at first, but since some people canceled, we called to update And they didnāt update this on their end) When I got there, The hostess told me that our reservation is for 14 people And all 14 people (or 12 people at least) need to be in the restaurant, so since we all came separately we met up at the restaurant and the host told us we canāt get a table until everyone is here, so all of us were waiting outside in the cold (one of our friends had an 8 month old baby) it was just super frustrating. moreover, I was on time, but we were still waiting on a few more people and the Host was telling us that she was going to give our table to the next group if everybody didnāt walk in in the next few minutes. When everybody finally got there, she was getting ready to give our table to somebody else, but we walked in and told her that weāre all here and so she gave it to us, but it felt like we were competing for a table, which is not what it should feel like when you are making a reservation Prior to coming into a restaurant
Secondly all of their waiters had a different answer when asked about halal options because I eat strictly halal and cannot have my food being cooked on the grill with the non halal food, so I called at least 3 times prior to the reservation to make sure and was told weād have 2 separate grills, I even had to pre order my chicken and pay an extra 2 dollars. When we got there we had 1 grill and the waiter said our food would be cooked first on the grill then our friendsā. When we get to the restaurant, the server tells me the same thing then when the chef started cooking he was cooking all meats at the same time. I then called a waiter and she told me all the meat is halal, and Iām simply being charged because theyāre serving everyone else at the table halal because of us. Now this was both confusing and frustrating because I donāt even know if their staff know what halal is, because each staff member had a different answer. At first they said they have select halal options, then they said everything is halal. I donāt know who to believe.
Secondly, I asked for no fish eggs on my sushi and received fish eggs to which they took the order back to correct it.
Lastly, the waiters came by and asked āyour table has the cake and presents right?ā At least 3 times while the birthday boy was next to us When we were trying to keep everything a surprise for him and came by earlier in the day to drop everything off including the gifts to avoid this exact thing from happening. We even added the birthday package prior but didnāt get it. When the cake came out they left the gifts to the side when we expecting them to be placed in front of him or by him at the table. That was discussed prior to us coming in.
Since we were celebrating a birthday we were opening presents and serving cake while a staff member was hovering over my shoulder the whole time to collect payment as if I was going to walk out of the restaurant without paying. I finally decided to pay first before continuing with our gifts. My boyfriend asked for him to come back later and he didnāt leave he just stood a little further away but kept hovering.
I chose to come here because Iāve heard such good things about this place but my experience was nowhere...

Our expectations for a delightful birthday celebration for my 10-year-old niece were shattered when we chose Hibachi Teppanyaki & Bar Mississauga for her special day. Despite her excitement to try this type of restaurant for the first time, our experience left us disheartened and regretful, especially considering the exorbitant prices we were charged.
We had made reservations for a group of 8 to celebrate my niece's birthday at 1 pm on Sunday, March 31st. However, upon arrival, we were informed that the restaurant had chosen to offer a "Special Easter Menu" instead of their usual group menu. To our dismay, the only discernible difference between the special menu and their regular Teppanyaki set menu was the glaring increase in pricing. This unexpected change, with significantly higher prices but no additional offerings, was not communicated to us when we made our reservations, leaving us feeling blindsided and taken advantage of.
Our frustrations only mounted as we waited for service. Despite arriving promptly, we were among the first tables seated, yet it felt as though we were being overlooked. As we eagerly awaited our turn, three more tables were seated and served before us. Even after placing our orders, the delay persisted, with other tables being served and leaving while our cook had yet to make an appearance.
The lacklustre service extended throughout the meal. Our server seemed disinterested and barely checked on us, leaving my niece feeling neglected on her special day. We had to repeatedly flag them down for refills and reminders about the birthday package we had paid for. Even then, it took the intervention of the manager to fulfill our simple request for a birthday photo, which was part of the package we had paid for to make her day extra special.
As for the food itself, it was a major letdown, especially considering the hefty price tag. Most of us opted for steak accompanied by either chicken or shrimp, as per the limited choices available. Despite the expectation of a culinary experience, the quality was sub-par, and the lack of customization options left much to be desired.
In the end, what was meant to be a joyous occasion turned into a regrettable experience. The lack of transparency regarding the special Easter menu, coupled with the substandard service, and overpriced, mediocre food, left my niece feeling disheartened on her birthday.
Each of us ended up paying far more than we anticipated for a thoroughly disappointing dining experience. The total cost per person, which amounted to $62, included the inflated menu prices, additional charges for substitutions like miso soup and fried rice, and a compulsory 15% tip due to the group size.
Overall, I would not recommend Hibachi Teppanyaki & Bar Mississauga for any special occasion or celebration, especially for children. Save yourself the disappointment and seek out a dining establishment that values its customers and delivers on its promises, ensuring a memorable experience for all without...
