This was by far one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. I ordered a side of Calamari, a Hercules burger, and a Lamb Souvlaki dinner for my wife and I. $52 later, you would think my order was handled with care. I worked in restaurants for 6 years, and have been cooking for almost 40 years so I might know a thing or two. First mistake they made was not doing things in the right order. They made my Calamari first, and it was done quickly. They should have made it last so it would not sit for 13 minutes while they made everything else. They also should have cooked it a little more, and it was not fresh. It was a little too fishy smelling meaning it was starting to turn. The next mistake they made was not listening to me when taking my order. I speak clear and concise English and asked in a loud voice for medium well done lamb. The woman who took my order asked if I said medium rare. I corrected her and said even louder, "No, medium well please". As you can see from the third picture, the lamb was clearly rare. The next mistake they made was not enough feta cheese in the greek salad. Barely a teaspoon when it should be more when it is $21.99 for the meal! To add insult to injury, the one woman ran to answer a cell phone, and then passed it to the other woman cooking. Really??? Who does that in the middle of their shift in front of customers??? I will NEVER go back because the amateurs who work in that kitchen cannot offer good service or good food that meets an acceptable level of quality...
Read moreVery clean, & portions are well-sized - and that's about it. I don't expect gourmet food from this chain, but I do expect a resemblance to Greek food. Prices are only shown in the menu (not on the board or on the walls) and even there without $ signs or other ways of easily distinguishing them from all the other info nobody cares about. They seem to have switched over from lemon potatoes to ones cooked in a bland tomato sauce (very poor); salad tasted like mildew (either veggie bag or sauce was dangerously stale, but they served it anyway); 'tzatziki' here means '18% sour cream without anything added for flavour'; meat is dry; took them 15 minutes to prep souvlaki dinner, with no other customer waiting. If they're merely reflecting a chain-wide change in quality & selection, I feel sorry for the franchisee. In any case, I am not going back again - and likely foreswear all Mr.Greek locations from here on. AND the food is expensive, compared to all the (hundreds of) other places in the...
Read moreThey are located on Dixie and Eglinton in a busy industrial area and during lunch hours on a weekday they can get busy. I ordered some takeout here a few times before during lunch and their food is delicious and portions are big. This time I did dinner and ordered the meal for 2 which is called the Pikilia for 2 but the amount of food we got could pass for a family meal, and also ordered a few individual souvlaki dinners. The meal for 2 comes with 2 large pitas, 1 bifteki, 2 souvlaki, choice of chicken or pork, chicken gyro, traditional beef and lamb gyro, small greek salad, a large tzatziki, and 2 choice of small side The lady at the counter was very helpful as well suggesting we should order which combo to make it more wallet friendly. The food took a little longer than expecting but that's cause I had ordered a bunch of food which was expected. I enjoy their food here thumbs...
