Palma Pasta (Palma's Kitchen) — Restaurant in Mississauga

Got a Alfredo Pasta.

I had read great reviews of the food and decided to stop buy for lunch on a Sunday afternoon date 18-8-2024 time 2.30 pm . I was happy to see the beautiful restaurant patio outside and inside the store ambiance was clean with good seating for having food. Since this was my 1st time visiting this place I took time and read the food menu patiently and carefully. The next experience is something I don’t want anyone else to experience.

The staff at the fresh food counter couldn’t understand my very clear Asian accent. Upon which I tried again politely to order my food . She frowned and suddenly there was no interest in taking my order . I felt a sense of disrespect. What I understand is she had a very thick Italian English accent and was having trouble understanding any other customer with a non Italian English accent. I understand it can be difficult at times to take the order from different customers with cultural and ethnicity differences, but it’s not acceptable to judge them and service them based on your personal preference. I was still looking forward to have the pasta and tired ignoring and moving forward. But then when I requested cutlery another old service lady at the counter was extremely disappointed that I asked for it and said “ this time I have it to you , but you can get it from the billing counter “ . I mean like should a customer be hearing all this ? Shouldn’t they have basic customer service standard and offer if the customer is looking for cutlery or anything upon ordering. Or make them feel if they are doing charity by providing food at cost . The pasta was okay , nothing noticeable special difference. At least the service could have been better.

To the owner- your staff is not ready to service people from other ethnicities and definitely not willing to provide good...

If I am correct, her name is Mil.about a week ago I came in like I usually do a few times a week and order my coffee, bread and butter cause I always like something light and I'm Portuguese so always enjoy my bread and butter at any time of the day... she made my coffee then a few seconds later asked if I wanted a fresh batch??? I don't understand why she would sell me and old batch knowing it was not fresh, and for someone who loves and knows when a coffee is fresh or been sitting there it just doesn't go down right... so as I ordered my coffee and my toasted bun, she turns over to her college and says, give him two butters, we'll those two butters had to be stretched out good and it tasted like I was eating plain bread. I was speechless and didn't know what to say so I took my old batch of coffee and two butters and just ate it with a few things to say but kept quiet. I started working in this industry back in 1992 and I know alot about it, I even had a restaurant with my parents for 15 years and this Mil need to put on a happy face to everyone even if her days aren't going so well at home, cause she looks like she's always mad, upset or unhappy with life. Do not bring your problems to your work place, or maybe that face is ust when she sees me, but I dont think so cause every time I happen to see her no matter who she's serving she looks like she doesn't like her job. A simple smile goes a long way and good costumer service keeps costumers...

Went to Palma pasta for the first time on Sunday, I got to the hot table to order few different items and got total attitude right off the bat from the lady that was serving me (white mid 40-45ish black framed glasses somewhat heavier side) After my first order she didn’t ask if I would like anything else just handed me the food while she was socializing with another coworker. I stood there and waited I than spoke up and said I would like to get another item she than rolled her eyes and said what do you want… her whole body language and demeanour was just off putting. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and thought hey everyone has a bad day. After my second item was given to me I still wanted few other things so I tried to speak to her she then walked off to the side to socialize with another customer… like what’s going on here. her customer service is horrible I truly felt some racial vibes from her all the non coloured customers got a nice greeting friendly banter but seemed like she didn’t like serving coloured ppl. The food was great no complaints just the customer service was horrible! I hope they move that lady to the back where she doesn’t deal with...
