Subject: Concern About Food Handling Practices and Overall Hygiene
Dear KELLYANE MOREAU After my experience at the store in Longueuil, now the Montreal Atwater store...WOW!!!!! WOW!!!!WOW!!!
I recently visited your store and ordered a sandwich, which was acceptable. However, I observed a concerning issue with the staff's hygiene practices. While they wear gloves and handle the food properly, they repeatedly touch other surfaces—including money—with the same gloves, despite being advised multiple times not to do so. I even spoke with the staff twice, and they assured me that they are trained to avoid such practices, yet the behavior continued even after those conversations.I pass by 20 minutes later and NOTHING CHANGE after I complain with the store manger...I pass again and still the same problem
After returning a few minutes later to check, I was disappointed to see that the staff still did not follow proper glove hygiene, touching everything else with the same gloves used for food. This raises serious health and hygiene concerns.
Is there a way to ensure proper hygiene practices are consistently followed? Perhaps health inspectors could review the situation, but I believe it also requires stricter staff training and supervision.
On a broader note, having traveled recently to Europe, for 3 months I noticed that French Canadian people in Montreal, in my opinion, are a VERY DIRTY people and VERY DIRTY city they struggle with cleanliness and hygiene standards. I found the overall environment to be less hygienic than expected, which is disappointing.I traveled and I saw the same beavor in Africa...
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope you take appropriate steps to improve hygiene standards and customer...
Read moreI have edited my review to add one of the worst experience I've had. I went on Sep22, 2021 and I was served a Latte with espresso and not the capsule as I don't like the capsule. There was no issue. The following day Sep23, 2021 I was wearing a head cover (Known as Hijab) that I started wearing. The treatment I received from an older lady Isabelle was very different from the day before. I was shocked by the blatant discrimination. A young staff took my order and was leaving to make me the latter with the espresso and not the capsule, when Isabelle intervened and told her not to. When I asked why she said it has to be the capsule, and when I asked why didn't she say anything the day before, she just repeated that the capsules have to be used. I left without ordering and told Anne Gabrielle, who was very pleasant, that this was blatant discrimination and that I will never set foot there. I got my latte from the Bruleries Aux Quatre Vents. As for the pastry I've been getting them from another bakery I recently discovered on Rue Saint Antoine called "Au Pain d'Epie". Their croissants are very tasty, so are their pastries. My note to the owner/Management: Please do not waste my time by responding using the generic response you have been using for the last few years. I have checked the reviews and there has not seem to be any improvement.
Initial Review: The pastry is Ok, average. However their coffee is bad as they use the capsules. I prefer the one from La Brulerie aux 4 Vents in the...
