This is a place worthy of going out of your way just to eat their food! What an opening line right? But it’s true. I have had difficulty finding decent pizza restaurants serving quality ingredients, where you can actually see and taste the sauce, where the cheese is plentiful, and the toppings are delicious and plentiful as well as a crust you want to save for last. Well, Pizza Mia hits the spot. The place is quite busy on weekends when I went, and the line was long but it went by quickly as they really know how to move people around. Their food is displayed beautifully and in a way that prevents customer contamination as it’s well covered yet you can see it - it actually reminded me of the type one can see in Italy with all the large portioned items like sandwiches, arancini, calzone, and so much more. I’m typically not a veggie pizza perso.n but I tried both of their varieties and was amazed at how fantastic it was, especially the one with the onions and tomatoes with zucchini and much more. Their slices are a very good size and hefty. Their arancini (Italian rice balls stuffed with cheese and deep fried) with a most delicious tomato sauce. Both the regular cheese as well as the ricotta and spinach were excellent and plentiful - a must to eat. So, two slices of pizza, two arancini, and one Brio side cake to $21.95, add the tax and your up to $25.25. Pre covid this would have been a slight less expensive I think - however in this marketplace I believe this is very good value given that the food is of such a high quality in every aspect. The atmosphere is actually cool for a market and makes it fun to watch all the people pass by, or go down the stairs near the cash register and there are some larger tables with more privacy. My hat is off to these restauranteurs for providing product and price to create good value to the point you yearn for more.

Not that impressed. Pricey, lots of variety but food is meh. Staff was meh. I ended up getting a chicken pizza all dressed kind of thing. A little soggy, flavor was good, the 1/2 square was still pretty big. They heated it up and cut it in 6. Ate it there but I wasn't all that hungry so brought the rest home. There's also macarons, cronuts that aren't great, empanadas and other small thjng. There are actually quite a bit of seating, take our style. Some counters and a bottom area as well as tables outside of the joint.

Just casually checking out Marché Atwater and one of the employees at the fruit stands recommended Pizza Mia. Upon walking in I saw they had square pizza slices and any place that has these have fire pizza. Got the cheese triangle slice and then a square slice with sausage and bell peppers. The square slice totally lived up to the hype and was really good. The employees were nice too and explained any questions I had.

A bit pricy, and pricing isn't as clear as it should be. Pizza by the slice is sold in traditional points/ triangles, as well as rectangles, and small individual pizzas. Perhaps put prices on display case in front of each format?

Place has been clean each time I have been there. It appears that Pizza Mia does a lot with the small space they have.

There is a lot of selection. Nice to have a number of vegetarian choices available.

As others have noted in their comments, there are issues from the start of the line when a person orders and the slice is taken from the display case, to the end of the line when a person pays and is given the slice. Multiple times when I go to pay, I tell them what I ordered and they go prepare another slice (which is a different pizza than I ordered) rather than bringing me what I ordered. It seems just giving customers a number to give to the cashier, and keeping the number with the slice(s) ordered; or some other basic protocol would be a very easy fix. This takes a lot of time when correcting the order and often correcting the bill too. As well as creating needless aggravation and congestion in a small space.

It seems it would not take much for Pizza Mia to notably improve operations and overall...

Lots of hype behind the food here, lost in the hype is the horrid service.

While waiting in line I saw half a pepperoni pizza sitting in the display case, looked really good, and I was going to ask for one slice

Just as I was about to order, the girl took the pizza right out of the window, and when I was asked what kind of pizza I wanted I asked for a slice of the pepperoni.

I was told no and that there is no pepperoni left, I just sought there. I said she just took it out of the window. The girl replied no you can’t have it there’s none left I ask why? She said no you can’t have any I ask is there a reason why? She said no there’s none left.

So I feel like an absolute idiot. All that was left was a vegetarian slice, so I ordered that.

When I got to the front the girl goes what did you order? I said a vegetarian slice. She didn’t have to place an order for another vegetarian slice to get placed in the oven and I waited for a solid 17 minutes.

The pizza was half decent not the worst of ever had, but what the heck. Why are you playing peekaboo with your pizza? What are you guys doing? Absolute insanity I don’t think I’m ever coming...
