Came from Mississuaga, made a last minute reservation via opentable, since the menu looks pretty good.

Sat down, they only serve their New Years Eve menu (which was not mentioned on their website/opentable). It was $125 for 3 course meal: Course 1: Lobster bisque, salad or 3 oyster rockefeller. Course 2: 3 maki sushi. Course 3: Fish sole/Filet mignon.

First course, the lobster bisque was surprisingly good, the oysters had too much going on cannot taste the oyster at all.

Second course, the maki was not balanced at all. The crab one just tasted like smoked salmon, and the shrimp doenst even taste like shrimp. Was way too big to be a one biter, which maki was meant for.

Third course, what we expect was an actual Filet mignon or a piece of fish with skin pan fried. But guess what, it turnt out to be like Ikea/cafeteria food. We are pretty sure those are not filet mignon, as it is very grainy, it is more like a flat iron cut/super lean cut. We did also order it as medium well, but as you can tell from the picture... it is not. And the fish... If i just goto walmart and buy the frozen fish and pan fried it, it will be the same.

Also a common theme in the restaurant, all the food was not warm/hot. At most room temperature, some food like the carrot or the fish was on the colder side.

We also got a cocktail, the taste is not bad, but for $20. Not worth.

$300 for 2 people and we dont even walk out half full (Please remember they dont offer any additional add on other than the seafood platter, another $150 extra for 1 dozen oyster/2 lobseter tail/4 shrimps.)

We are both foodies, and we regularly spend over $200 per person/meal every weekend. This has to be the worst that we ever had. Having aggressive prices is fine, but please back it up with the food quality.

**Edit: The "steak" was probably 3 - 5 oz at most, and we have had A5 Japanese Wagyu beef 3 oz for $100 in toronto. Lets say your lobster bisque was $20. Does this 3 course meal worth $125? Also during the maki course, they gave us wooden chopstick (the cheap ones, where there are a lot of fine...

I am truly so disappointed with the service I received last night at Fishbone.

To start off, we were a group with a reservation at 9pm. We only got seated at 9:30, and served our food at 11:15pm. The table next to us arrived later, and had finished their meals by the time we were even served. The people from that table even came up to us to tell us that they "felt bad" for us... HOW EMBARASSING!

Since we were a group, we were told we absolutely had to order from a fixed menu at $75 a person. Strange because once again, the table next to us was a group of people and they were able to order from the regular menu...seems like Fishbone treats certain clients different than others.

Anyway, when we did receive our food, we received our main meal without ever receiving our appetizers. When we asked what was going on, no one was able to answer our questions. They simply said the kitchen was closing so they had to rush the food service. The orders were mixed up, some people didn't get what they ordered, did not get an appetizer, or like me, did not even get my main dish! So essentially I went to Fishbone at 9pm to have an appetizer at 11:15pm and then was told it was too late because the kitchen was closed, all while I had very well ordered a main dish....talk about starving!

The worst part was at the end of the night when it was time to pay, they wanted to charge us 90$ a person rather than the said $75 because they had estimated that half of us would take the fish, and since we all took the meat and meat is more expensive, they had to ''balance it out". I've never heard of such a fraud in my life.

At this point, we just wanted to pay and get out of there. However, it took 2 HOURS to do that due to the inability of the staff to properly split the bills, their machines were apparently not working, they had received a new system and did not know how to use it, etc, etc, etc.

Oh and the best of it all is that we had asked multiple times to speak to the manager, who NEVER came to see us... what great hospitality you provide your...

One of the worse experience I had in a long time. We were a large group who reserve a table with a 8 courses set menu (70$). I don't usually give 1 star to any restaurant as I do respect people getting into this busines as I used to own my own restaurant. However, this place was so bad that I cannot lie to people reading my review. This 1 star is for our waitress who was quite nice and attentive to your demands else would have been 0 star. Let's start with the food. 1st course, potatoes with mayonnaise and a spicy sauce, very tasteless and quite cheap actually. 2nd course was a spinach with pine nuts and a balsamic dressing. Nothing to be impress of, well except for the relatively small portion given. 2 or 3 people had to share the plate. 3rd course was 1 piece of chicken croquette per person. The size of the croquette was about the size of my thumb. It taste like decent quality frozen croquette with cheese filling at Costco. 4th course was again 1 piece of ham croquette per person. Just as good as the Costco croquette as well. 5th course was lamb brochette with curcuma spice, the only decent plate overall. 6th course was boneless chicken wing that taste like the chef had drop a mason jar of salt in the making of the dish. 7th course was beef stew that taste old and really salty (the beef chunk was dry and at room temperature at the time of serving). 8th course was a seafood paella with Lipton noodle, and no kidding, the taste was exactly like the Lipton noodle. Dessert was something I don't even recall as the rest was so bad. The expresso at the end was good. Another thing it where we were sitting, every time new guest come in, we will fell a really cold breeze. We asked politely if they could extend the curtain to block the breeze. they refused... so we had to endure 4 hours of cold breeze (was only -14C outside) every time someone...

One of my favourite places for dinner in Montreal is @Fishbone MTL (420 Notre-Dame St W, Montreal, Quebec) - Asian-American fusion cuisine ❤️ The restaurant is elegantly decorated, spacious and absolutely beautiful! The food is matched for a mouthwatering experience! I typically start with the seafood tower. Today, we wanted something different, so we ordered the Beijing duck tacos and the Gioza Yasai (vegetarian dumplings) - so good!!! ❤️ For our main - we shared our staple favourite: the Surf and Turf. Whether you’re having the filet mignon or rib eye, this dish is simply amazing!! I highly recommend giving this place a try!! #elegantdining #asianamericancuisine #montrealfood #downtownmontreal #montrealeats
