Visited this establishment this past weekend, on September 6th, for brunch during a day trip to the city with my classmates. We came by at around 11am and our party of 9 was easily accommodated. The service was quick and we were able to get our orders in right away.
My table ordered an assortment of beverages and meals, but I went with a hot chai latte and the french toast. We received our drinks first and didn’t have to wait too long for our food to arrive. While the french toast was delicious, it did not fill me up. I was almost shocked at how quickly I ate it as it felt like I hadn’t eaten anything at all. The others in my party who also ordered the french toast thought the same, so I knew it wasn’t just me. We ended up supplementing our hunger by eating the leftover homefries that those who ordered sandwiches couldn’t finish. If the french toast came with something else on the side, like the homefries, then I would’ve been more satisfied with my meal.
Other than that, we had a great time overall. The place is super cute in the interior and the service was great overall. Our servers were kind and didn’t hesitate to answer any of our questions about the menu.
I would still recommend you come here, but to order something heavier, like the omelette, croque monsieur, or breakfast sandwich if you’re really hungry. The french toast wouldn’t be a bad option if you are looking for...
Read moreI found the place to be pretty good, but I will point out the few bad things first to get that out of the way. The place was full enough but not crowded. There were several empty tables but we chose to sit at the bar. So far, all good, this was fine.
Two points of contention were that the wait to get our food was astoundingly long. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and there wasn't any particular rush of people. We suspect the bartender who took our order forgot to put the meal in.
On that note, she got our order wrong. We ate the food anyway, and it was very good. This is what the positive was. The 2 dishes we got were very good and I would go back here again. The real issue was the bar service, which was mediocre at best for the reasons mentioned above. I see a lot of mention about great servers. Ours didn't say much to us the whole time.
That said, we would go back if we have time to burn, but I would not sit at the bar. I would get a table. And don't go when it's 90 degrees out as the air conditioning was a bit lacking, though honestly that can be said of most places...
