Espace La Fontaine — Restaurant in Montreal

We had our wedding at Espace La Fontaine in 2019. The restaurant is perfectly located and has a beautiful interior. The chef created an excellent dinner. However, the organization was horrible and we did not feel supported for the planning at all. We had to ask several times to finally arrange a date to try the different menu options, even though they said they would come back to us. That pretty much represents the way they communicated throughout the entire time, we had to run after them all the time. Knowing hot and humid Montreal summers, one of our priorities was having an A/C. They promised that construction were underway 5 months before the wedding. Still, 2 weeks before we had to learn by chance that A/C is not working. They did not bother informing us but offered that we change location, 2 weeks before the wedding!!! This may have been an option if we had known earlier that there is an issue. Though, they made an effort to install ventilators but they were so loud and crazy windy, it was hard to have conversations during dinner. People in suits and dresses as well as elderly people were in serious discomfort and dancing was almost impossible. Around midnight the police came and we had to close the windows because of noise complaints so after there was no fresh air in the room anymore. At some time during the evening a manager started to coordinate the service but up until then, I the bride had to make sure outside people would not walk into the room constantly or tell the staff that people should have their wine when dinner is served and not half way through the second course. Despite that, I have to say that service staff overall did their best under the crazy climatic conditions and the lack of managing. Overall, it is ashame that such unprofessional people run this restaurant because it could be a great place in a unique location. If you do not want to add extra stress for your event, especially your wedding, I really do not recommend booking...

This once all-but-abandoned City of Montreal restaurant facility, located at the core of a vast park in the Plateau Mont-Royal quarter, has been lovingly renovated, and serves fresh market cuisine.

Don't think for a moment when you order their "chien chaud" that you will receive just any mass-produced hot dog. A sausage handmade on the premises, is served in half a fresh baguette, with classic sauerkraut, grilled veggies, and hot mustard on the side.

Word on the street says the steak tartare is the best in the city, and the menu has many options, including a famous "cocotte" for breakfast hounds, or a smoked salmon plate to die for. Winter (try their skater's special: onion soup & a beer), or summer (outside on the terrace), or for their cultural events, this bistro is quickly becoming a Montrealers favourite.

Good wines, artisanal beer, decadent desserts (try the key lime pie) WiFi, rotating art exhibitions, and convivial hosts and service staff. Bring the whole gang, or the entire family, but don't miss this jewel.

Cette ville autrefois tout- mais - abandonné de service de restaurant de Montréal , situé au cœur d'un vaste parc dans le quartier Plateau Mont-Royal , a été rénové et sert une cuisine du marché fraîche.

Ne pensez pas un instant lorsque vous commandez leur " chaud chien" que vous recevrez juste un chien chaud produit en masse . Une main de saucisse sur place , est servi dans une demi- baguette fraîche , avec de la choucroute classique , légumes grillés , et la moutarde chaude sur le côté .

Selon la rumeur, dit le steak tartare est le meilleur dans la ville , et le menu a de nombreuses options, dont un célèbre " cocotte " pour le petit déjeuner chiens , ou une plaque de saumon fumé à mourir. Hiver (essayez spéciale de leur patineur : oignon soupe et une bière ) , ou en été ( à l'extérieur sur la terrasse ) , ou pour leurs manifestations culturelles , ce bistrot est rapidement devenu un favori des Montréalais .

Bons vins , bières artisanales , des desserts décadents (essayez la tarte au citron vert ) WiFi , rotation des expositions d'art , et les hôtes conviviales et personnel de service . Apportez toute la bande , ou toute la famille , mais ne manquez...

This long standing on again, off again chalet restaurant is truly a landmark within a wonderfully cherished city park. Over the years, so many transformations have taken place to now having found its true calling. Lots of charm, good food and live entertainment.
