I frequent the bagel shop at the Bonaventure station on the floor where the skating rink is quite often on my morning route to work. The bagels are not bad and the different variety of flavoured cream cheese is impressive. However, I will never be going back for this one reason: their customer service is TERRIBLE. Let me start out by saying I understand that when I pass by at anywhere from 7:30 – 7:50 am there can be a rush and so the workers may want to be fast, but that doesn’t mean you can’t say hi or give a smile here and there. I have never ONCE, out of the many times I’ve been there, been greeted and never once been given a smile by ANY of the workers. But that is not what is stopping me from going there as this is not entirely an unusual thing here in Montreal unfortunately. The problem is the man working there who looks to be the owner. I myself as well as both of my sisters have all been there at separate occasions and have all received a nasty attitude from him. For example my sister one morning was having a bad morning which involved her forgetting her debit card at home and as she searched her bag for it he got very irritated with her. Myself I was given a nasty attitude one morning (and by the way what a lovely way to start your day!) when I told him “bagel and cream cheese” when it was actually a flavored cream cheese and apparently I need to specify exactly which cream cheese because they have different prices (this was on my second or first visit so I did not know). But even through all of the bad experiences we all had collectively I still continued stopping by for a bagel every now and then. But what happened this morning, however, to me was simply unacceptable. I passed by around 7:30 am and to my surprise there was no lineup (for the first time). Ahead of me was only 2 people and by the time I got to the counter there was still no one behind me, which means; there was essentially no rush. As per usual I received no greeting and proceeded to give my order, a pumpernickel bagel with butter, to a woman. I was very clear with my order (my sister was actually there as a witness). I paid, received my bagel and walked out. When I had a look at my bagel it had absolutely nothing on it… Confused I asked my sister what the order she had understood me order was and she confirmed that I had indeed asked for butter on my bagel. So I returned to the store and explained they forgot the butter directly to the man (the one I presume to be the owner) who then reluctantly took the bagel from me and proceeded to slather on a huge ol’ chunk of butter on my bagel. The chunk was so big I thought it was cream cheese and reminded him I asked for butter.. He told me yes and continued to slather it on and handed it back. At this point I’m in a hurry and have no more time to deal with these extremely rude people so I left with my butter + a side of bagel, took these pictures and threw it on the side of the road where it belongs. Complete waste of my time and money. No thank you, I will pass, even on my hungriest morning I rather starve (yes, a bit exaggerated but you know what I mean) than knowingly go and deal with people like this. In addition, I also believe the fact that the rest of the employees seem to either have an attitude or are just not welcoming is also because of him as he is the owner and they are following his example. Customer service is an extremely important part of business guys, trust me! Who likes going places where they are made to feel as though they are being a nuisance or simply unwanted? I have places that I frequent where the quality of the food/product is not to die for, but the quality of the customer service is what keeps me coming back every time!

When travelling to Montreal we were hungry from walking for hours and stumbled upon this place. It was an okay place. There were many types of bagels options as well as many types of toppings. I got the chocolate cream cheese filling, my mom got a pumpkin kind and it was just okay. Also the coffee was old and we had to ask for a fresh pot to be made. Even so, the fresh coffee was very strong. So if you like strong coffee you might enjoy it but it was very very strong. And I really enjoy coffee! Also it’s a nice looking place but the tables had not been cleaned (we had to clean it) and the garbages were overflowing (and it wasn’t busy). This place needs to be a bit more attentive to these things. I do think with some upgrades it could be much better!

We heard a lot about bagel tourist traps in Montreal (one in particular) and so far this doesnt seem to be one of them. It is visited by mostly locals working in downtown. It offers fresh bagels with various cream cheese flavours and other ready made ones. So its not just a bakery yet the bagels are fresh and diverse. I loved the sesame bagel (with figue cream cheese) and couldnt resist ordering a 2nd: cinnamon bagel with peanut butter and jam. The staff are patient and just great. Will come here again v soon for sure!

Decent bagels! I was really impressed at the freshness and overall taste because I was expecting much lower quality.

Any bagel that isn't St-Viateur bagel gets suspicious looks from me. I'm very loyal to my bagels. I wasn't even going to eat at this place until I saw that they had a smoothie+bagel combo for around 13$.

I got the mango smoothie and it was pretty bad. It was warm and really slimy. It tasted overly sweet and not refreshing. I'd probably give their other flavours a try but this one was a no.

The salmon and avocado bagel was delicious! I don't know who decided to come up with this combo but it was the best! Lots of bagel places don't really offer varied sandwiches but this place does. I thought the avocado was good but it could have been a bit fresher. Although, I do know how hard it is to manage avocado so I can't really fault them for that.

I recommend this place for lunch. I think they really go out of their way to offer lots of different bagel sandwiches combination and they keep everything clean and presentable. I do see how just a plain bagel would be dry from this place but if you get their sandwiches it gets rid of that issue.

The only problem I have with the sandwiches is that alone they become reallllllly expensive. Like around 8-11$ per...
