Les Anges Gourmets — Restaurant in Montreal

Anges Gourmels is a Portuguese delights paradise in Montreal. I am Brazilian and I have lived in Montreal for 10 years and for the first time I saw this place while was passing in front at St Laurent looking for a new Breakfast place. This is a small restaurant but we were surprised by the quantity and quality of the food in general, with big sort of breads, sweet, tasty sandwiches and the service was really fast and friendly. We ate more kind of Americans breakfast with eggs, but we want to return to try more Portuguese dishes. The place also sells Portuguese delicacies as "Pastel de Natas" (or Pastel de Belém as we call it in Brazil) and today I tried a small version of the Pastel de Nata with nuts, a great explosion of flavors in the mouth! The prices are really reasonably and kind of cheap for the quality. They also sell "risoles" and other frozen Portuguese delicacies and accept orders for parties, great option for the End of the year coming! For Brazilians living or visiting Montreal is kind of a Paradise, since we are used to Portuguese food back in Brasil and there are Brazilians working there, all of them really helpful and fun to talk with. I have stopped going to this establishment, it's been a few years now, after my horrible experience. I ordered 3 meals, and 1 regular coffee. When I went to taste the coffee, it tasted burnt. I politely asked to change my coffee to a latte, so she threw out my coffee, with attitude, and made my latte. I asked how much I owed her, she said the full amount. In shock, I stated, I just paid for the regular coffee she had thrown out. She smugly responded "oh well" I asked to speak to the owner, she said, "not here" I have NEVER had such horrible service. . Never, ever, will they see me there again. ...

Terrible service! I was told they make Leitao (suckling pig) for the holidays. I called to inquire and place the order. She told me they make Leitao but I had to come in to the shop to discuss options and place the order and she rushed me off the phone. I drove there from Laval with my 9 month old (in the rain) to only be told when i got there that they do not make Leitao. They did apologize bit it was too little too late. Also the place is not stroller friendly and nobody offered to help me out. They just watched as I struggled out the two doors and...
