Location: On the Main. Street parking only. The closest subway is probably Mont-Royal (orange).
The place: It's tiny and for reasons unbeknownst to myself, it reminds me of a jungle shack. Have I ever been to the jungle, you ask? No I have not but I'm sure that's what a jungle shack looks like. Very cozy with lots of warm brown colors. Also, the smell. Nom nom nom. All I'm going to say about that. Oh, and great tunes in the background. Anyone who plays Dylan is all right by me.
The food: Their specialty is Middle Eastern cuisine that they prepare fresh on a daily basis. Their selling feature is that charcoal grill - it makes everything good and tasty! I've had a variety of goodies here, such as fresh juices, lemonade (do yourself a favour - order the lemonade) wraps and platters. My personal favourites include the Bombay (wrap) which consists of grilled chicken with pineapple chutney, sumac onions and red cabbage cozily tucked into Pita bread. AND it was so damn spicy I could feel my sinuses expanding as I ate. LOVE it. Flavor-wise, I would define this as an explosion of deliciousness. Need I say more? My go-to meal is the Omnivore, which consists of chicken kafta (or other meat of your choosing), rice with lentils, salad and their garlic sauce, which, frankly, I can eat with a spoon. I've done it. True story.
Service: Great - the guy behind the counter is a little serious but he knows how to make a mean sandwich so I'll let that go.
Price point: Depends what you order but for the Omnivore and a lemonade, it's...
Read moreReally solid spot for fresh, flavorful Lebanese-inspired food right on St-Laurent. We started with the Assiette des Mezzos, which came with a great combination of their appetizers, everything was fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. The Rouleaux aux Trois Fromages in particular were crispy, cheesy, and super satisfying.
For the main, we had the Carnivore Platter with an extra brochette on the side. The grilled meats were perfectly cooked, tender, juicy, and well-seasoned. The platter was the perfect amount for the two of us and a great combination of what they offer. The portions were generous and definitely left us full.
They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, which is great depending on the vibe you’re looking for. The space inside is casual and clean with lots of room, and the patio is perfect for a sunny day or people-watching along St-Laurent. Service was quick and friendly, and prices were very fair for the quality.
Highly recommend if you’re in the area and looking for something hearty, flavorful,...
Read moreI've been going to this place for a few years now. It's one of the best spots in the plateau. This story started with the lemonade combo. It comes with a pita bread wrap, a salad, and the lemonade.
For the wrap, I always choose the Djaj one. There's chicken taouk, garlic sauce, turnips, and pickles. The wrapped is grilled, and that gives a nice crunchy bite to it. The salad I got is the fattoush. I love this salad. There's lettuce, cucumber, pepper, radish, tomatoe, crispy pita, and pomegranate syrup based vinaigrette.
I first got this combo and never ordered anything else from the menu. I'm sure the rest is good, too, but I can not go against a winner combination. The price is good for the great food they serve.
The waitress gave us a decent service as expected. The cook has been there since forever. Probably the owner, but I can say that the product stayed consistent after that many years.
Thank you for the food. I will keep going to this place. I give nothing less than 5 stars...
