This was the best Indian food I’ve had in eastern canada…and I would say, Canada, but it ties for a place we ate in Toronto. But it definitely shares the top spot! …And this comes from someone born in Sri Lanka with a mother that cooked the most incredible food - so, when it comes to Indian and Sri Lankan cuisine, I’m sometimes, unfairly critical. But this restaurant blew me away. Recommended by a friend who is a retired professional 5-star chef, who treated us to dinner there, the meal not only met my expectations but exceeded it. The flavours were distinct and unique for each dish, which is something that Indian restaurants don’t achieve often. The appetisers were perfectly prepared, not too oily or not too dry…the curries were delicious and so flavourful without being overpowering. If the scale had a negative side, that's where I would rate this restaurant! We went there 'misled' by the name that doesn't represent the cuisine or the region after which it is named. As we say down, we were met with the rudest manager (who should not be in the hospitality business) who stopped the server from pouring water, until he was sure if we will order food! Even though, we were disappointed already with this unusually shockingly rude (un)welcome reception, we still decided to place an order for an appetizer to test waters and were asked to leave, as the restaurant doesn't believe in serving appetizers, unless they are sure that we will order the main course. I cannot comment about the quality or taste of the food that is served at this restaurant, but will not recommend anyone looking for Indian hospitality to visit here.
