Just to be clear from the start: I love this place, the beer is excellent and the service great. However, I have to leave a comment about the salmon we ate because it was simply ridiculous expensive. We also talked to our server and she explained that it is one of the best products. That might be, but when going to a pub I am not expecting super high quality but something good for a reasonable price. We paid 12,25$ for 70gr of salmon. No bread (extra 5$ which is also very expensive) just one slice of lemon. I do understand that we have difficult times but I suggest not to offer such a product in order to not offend the pub clients. Anyways I will definitely go back but avoid eating there.

Update: this place is still cozy and inviting, even though there weren't many people in the bar this time. We had a grilled cheese, which was yummy but a bit expensive. Really great service, and tasty beer (yes we came back for the borg brugghús). Cozy pub, our group ended up at a small table in the back. We were served well, and had some beer bread and some amazing beverages. We tried a few imports, like the Icelandic Borg goat droppings IPA. The menu seemed to constantly change as things were scribbled and crossed off in sharpie. The bathroom has a mini museum and shared trough sinks. We had a lovely time.

While visiting Montreal, my wife and I wanted a good beer. I checked out Google reviews to narrow the field before selecting Pit Caribou. Atmosphere-wise, this is a laid-back place where you won't have to shout over painfully loud music. The staff members know their menu well and are willing to share their opinions. We had Pit Caribou beers - an orange IPA and a nitro robust porter. Both were solid beers, though we both preferred the IPA. We slightly regretted eating a mound of Chinese dumplings beforehand because the food items looked great, both on the menu and on the tables next to us.

Really happy to have found this as we walked looking for food. It was late on a Friday when we got into town and we are not familiar with the area, and this did not come up when we did a Google search for food. I was hoping for more of a meal, but was impressed by their easily shared snackable options! This place is the perfect hangout for some sociables! Lots of charcuterie style options that you can mix and match, but I wasn't really in that vibe unfortunately at the time. We ordered nachos and while the salsa was delicious and my partner really really liked it, I wish it had been on the side instead. LOVED that it had black olives, but cheese was the only other topping and there was a little too much of it and it wasn't great cheese... Wish we could have had tomatoes and onions if not a little lettuce but it still hit the spot. Also wish my Caesar had a celery stick with the bacon bites as I was just trying to get some green into me by ordering it since there were not really any options to round out my meal on the menu... Again, GREAT snacks and fairly healthy options since hardly anything was deep fried and they didn't seem to have french fries, but no real entrees offering a balanced meal (just so you know ahead of time). Could see this being a favourite hang out of mine if I lived in the area and would totally...

We arrived at 21:45 and it was on the emptier side, good because we could sit anywhere. They have a terrace outside that looked like the perfect spot, but they closed it around 22:00! Very confusing, seems like the exact time you would want to keep it open… The interior itself is exactly what you’d want: dim lighting, wood slab tables, and chill music that isn’t so loud you can’t hear each other. It started to fill up more around 22:00, coincidentally (not) the same time that they closed the terrace. That made it louder and hotter than it needed to be, a shame on a lovely summer evening. The beer itself was great, especially the gose à la mangue! Would have been fun if they had some sort of tasting menu, but there were a few sizes to choose from. It has many strengths—a good ambiance, good location, and the most important: a solid selection of beers. It was a great time! However….. they could be using these strengths to their fuller potential. Keep the...

Amazing variety of beers that will certainly please everyone in the group (except maybe those who think beer should follow traditional recipes and be basic :)). If you like Gose, they often have different ones, always great! It is my favorite bar in Montreal and they now have a great terrasse which makes it even better. A lot of amazing bottled imported beers from Belgium and elsewhere with a few Oud Bruin, Gueuze, aged stuff, etc. Can't really have a full meal there, but they have a lot of sides and increases their vegetarian offer recently. I'm in love with the "trio" Bread/Cheese/Onion jam. Go, you won't be disappointed (but also, please don't as I want to keep this place a slightly...
