Nestled on 1289 Rue Beaubien, Oishi Bar is a hidden gem that captures the essence of matcha in every bite and sip. This delightful Japanese restaurant specializes in matcha-infused treats and beverages, offering a haven for matcha enthusiasts in Montreal.

From the moment you enter Oishi Bar, you're greeted with a serene and inviting atmosphere. The minimalist decor, adorned with touches of traditional Japanese aesthetics, creates a calming ambiance perfect for indulging in matcha delights.

Let's start with the star of the show—the matcha cakes. Oishi Bar boasts a delectable selection of matcha-infused creations that are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. Each cake is a work of art, beautifully crafted with layers of moist cake, creamy matcha filling, and delicate toppings. From the classic matcha roll cake to the indulgent matcha mille crepe, every bite is a symphony of flavors that showcases the distinct earthiness of matcha.

The matcha tea at Oishi Bar is a must-try as well. Served with precision and care, the matcha tea is prepared using high-quality matcha powder, resulting in a smooth and vibrant beverage. The rich, grassy notes of the matcha create a soothing and refreshing experience for your taste buds. Whether you prefer it hot or iced, Oishi Bar ensures that every cup of matcha tea is a true delight.

The service at Oishi Bar is attentive and friendly, with staff members who are knowledgeable about matcha and eager to assist you in making the best choices. They are happy to provide recommendations based on your preferences and offer insights into the art of matcha preparation.

One area for improvement is the variety of matcha-infused treats available. While the existing selection is impressive, expanding the menu to include more diverse options would enhance the overall experience. Additionally, providing more information about the sourcing and quality of the matcha used would add an extra layer of transparency for matcha...

Went to Oishi Bar a Matcha with my foodie friend and had a very special experience, we tried a variety of drinks and desserts, the grand cru (grand raw) matcha - award winning was good but I find overpriced, it’s good but I guess it’s too bitter for most people. And we tried the latte, my friend had the Taiwanese cream, and I tried the Sakura latte (with sencha), which were not outstanding, but the cups and saucers were pretty. We didn’t enjoy the macarons so much, because they were too dry and hard, flavor-wise it’s not wow neither. However, we really enjoyed the volcano cake, gateau fondant- hojicha and matcha, they were so good! The texture of the melting inside of the cake was really amazing, yummm, and the presentation was cute too, with sprinkle of gold. The interior decor is too much, I prefer something simpler, less cups, less teapots, less products, visually I was so overloaded and saturated. Would recommend this place for...

If you're a tea lover, this is a must-visit! This charming tea house features a super-long menu filled with a variety of teas.

We indulged in their delicious, rich matcha latte, which was perfectly creamy. It's delightful and showcases the quality of their matcha. We also tried the wonderful hojicha latte, which was equally impressive with its unique roasted flavor.

One of the highlights is their incredible selection of delicious matcha and hojicha-flavored desserts. We had the lovely yuzu-matcha scone and the mouthwatering hojicha lava cake.

A calm and relaxed atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to have (and spill) tea with friends. It's an inviting space where you can sip your drinks and enjoy good conversation.

From the extensive tea menu to the delicious lattes and desserts, everything was top-notch. We can't wait to return to explore more of their offerings and enjoy another cozy afternoon...
