Awful experience in every sense !!! Awful service , awful food , crazy high price ! Stay away ! I made a complaint to them directly 3 times and the NEVER bothered replying to me ! Awful restaurant

Here’s a copy of my email to them My husband and I had dinner at Moretti Griffintown Saturday May 13th and we were totally disappointed with our dinner experience in many ways.

May 4th I had a business dinner at Moretti Toronto and had the best meal and experience ever : friendly nice staff, huge portion of Cesar salad for 17$ , huge portion of mushroom truffle buratta pasta and free Diet Coke refill. I was so happy with my experience and the incredible great taste of the food that I told my husband back in Montreal to go to the Griffintown one !

So as we arrived on may 13th, we were barely greeted. They asked if we wanted water and they served us a 8$ Evian water bottle (we expected free tap water !) We ordered the Cesar salad : it was a mini portion for barely a kid, it was super cold and the lettuce was old and nasty (looked like it was someone else’s lettuce that they gave to us)!!! I ordered the mushroom truffle pasta with buratta : the amount of pasta was the quantity you give to a 8 year old !!! For 38$ really ????!! I couldn’t get a free refill of Diet Coke like in Toronto the lava cake was also a mini portion !! the waitress wasn’t caring at all … didn’t ask us if we were happy with the meal once !!! then to make matters worse , come time to pay the bill the tap doesn’t work : what If I didn’t have my physical card and only Apple Pay ??? And the tip minimum was 15% and the machine calculates 15% on top of the taxes which is a total rip off and not legit ! And guess what ? The waitress didn’t let my husband put in the 15% on the amount before taxes , she cancelled the transaction without warning and told my husband it’s 15% minimum ?!?!? What the hell ? Not only it’s not legit to calculate it on top of taxes but she didn’t even deserve a dime with the bad service she provided then we left the restaurant nobody even said thank you or goodbye …

This was awful food wise and service wise and extremely expensive !!!! Last time we eat at Moretti !!!! That experience...

Horrible. It was the worst restaurant experience that i ever had in my whole life. Im putting one star because i cant put zero stars.

Me and my two friends made a reservation for three on a Friday night. We get there as we are led by the hostess, she scans the room and there is only a table of four available. Her manager tells her to split the table in two tables of two. So we are given a table of two, for three people. We were in a weird corner, there was a huge concrete column on one side of the table. My friend was back to back to some guy on the other side. We had to move the table every time she wanted to go to the bathroom. The table next to us were two on the same table as us. So right off the bat we were squeezed in and it was really annoying and uncomfortable, especially since we made a reservation prior for THREE. when we told the servers they did not care at all. Then we ordered and the horror continued as there was plastic in the middle of my lasagna. Like a huge piece of cling wrap plastic. When i told the server he told me « it can happen. Because we cover the lasagna with cling wrap plastic and we heat it in the microwave. So maybe a piece stayed on. » but the plastic was not on top like he claimed it was inside (ill put up a pic). So he said he will bring me another one on the house. Mind you the whole time he seemed not impressed and he seemed like he didnt care much either. He then brought me a second piece in which one corner was burnt SOLID (ill add a pic). My fork was not going in. At this point i completely lost my appetite and was so disappointed. I just let it be. When he came to pick up my friends plates i told him « sorry if i didnt eat it, as you can see this whole side is completely burnt » he didnt even acknowledge my comment and left with the plates. My friends then paid (he did not made me pay) and he turned to me and said (for the first time) sorry about that. And left. Me and my friends will never be back there and i really recommend that you...

Had the most appalling interaction with our server Emmanuel. We ordered the burrata pizza and Pomodoro pasta, which we explicitly pointed to on the menu to avoid confusion with the other pastas. We get our food and the pasta is a tortellini in white sauce which we didn’t believe is what we ordered, so we asked our very attentive busboy (he was better than our server and cared way more about the customers than she did, kudos to him), if we had the right pasta, he said yes that’s the cavitelli pomodoro, so in confusion and no sight of our server we were stuck with it. When our bill came we saw that we had the wrong pasta on it, we brought it up to our server and she snapped at us saying “well you guys ate it, you should have told me” which we replied saying we told the busboy because you were no where in sight, she continues arguing with us saying we shouldn’t have eaten it if we knew it was wrong, and at this point she knew she rang in the wrong pasta and was trying to blame us for her error. She starts saying how we knew it was wrong and we’re happy to eat it even when we obviously didn’t order this pasta and she knew she messed up. She charged us for the most expensive pasta on the menu and we wouldn’t have known if we didn’t check the bill and bring it up to her, we realized she did this because she was trying to charge us more so her sales/ tips would be higher. We’ve never been barked back at us by a waitress in such a rude way, especially since she wasn’t present during our service. We never heard a “sorry” or any sort of apology for her messing up our order and she took no initiative to make it right with us just argued endlessly. She then threw our bills at our table when she finally fixed the issue. Safe to say we’ll never go back to the Griffintown location, due to the horrible service from this...

Enormous room with comfortable seating. Simple inventive menu. Although the prices are slightly pricey, the portions are large and beautifully presented. We split a Moretti salad amongst 3 as an appetizer, and shared 2 pizzas, having to take 3 slices home. The server was very kind and patient, as my mother wanted to substitute artichoke hearts instead of pepperoni. She promised to ask the kitchen, they did without extra charge. Prices for wine by the glass were steep, and once seated, the busboy asked if we wanted sparkling or plain water. I assumed plain meant tap, but it was a $7 bottle on the bill. Be warned: the term in French is “Eau de robinet”. We were using our flashlights on our phones to read the menu, and by 7 pm they lowered the lights even more! The bathrooms are private cubicles with shared sink area. They put separate colours of hand soap in each dispenser which was a touch of whimsy, but I kind of expected a higher quality of soap in a restaurant of this calibre. It’s almost a city block to the farthest reaches of the dining room, so it was a challenge for my 87 year old dad. Specify table close to the entrance if this is concern. I also caution against bringing anyone who is noise sensitive here, as the music is prominent (nice tunes in my opinion, but not enjoyed by my parents). This is a wonderful place to come on an expense account, to celebrate a special occasion and enjoy wonderful food and polished service.

Pappardelle alla Vodka: fresh tasting pappardelle, lovely taste, balanced flavours, would recommend Gnocchi Cacio E Pepe: fresh tasting gnocchi, truffle is a nice addition to the dish, perfect amount of pepper, would recommend Fettucine Al Funghi: fresh tasting fettucine, sauce not out of the ordinary but tastes okay, would not recommend Crostata al Limone: a bit too sweet, just enough lemon-yuzu flavour though, but would not recommend Fondente al Cioccolato: their best dessert, chocolate perfectly sweet, balanced out with abricot and pistachio ice cream, would recommend Tiramisu: flat, too soft, and barely holds on its own, expresso taste is barely there, would not recommend Service: manager who showed us our table was nice and friendly. Then it became confusing, as we were unsure who our waiter was since many people came to see us (busboy? busgirl? hostess? waiter? waitress?). Towards the end, a woman that never spoke to us came with the machine for us to pay, felt random, did not understand her role since she did not serve us? Water: for the water to be charged 8$+, at least make sure it's nice and cold, and tastes different from tap water. Letting customers know that the water will be charged would be appreciated as well.
