Food was okay, butter chicken was too sweet and lukewarm. But Iām giving it one star for the customer service.
Diner was going just fine until it was time to pay. My partner already had put tips since we split cheques and i added 27 cents just so my total comes up to 25$, i had no intention of making a real tip since as i said, my partner did.
So far so good until the lady that brought us the cheques made a snarky remark and loudly with the very clear intention of humiliating said "Excuse me sir, you only put 25 cents for tips? okay" and iād like to make a comment about that.
First of all, if i was to tip anyone, it wouldnt be her, she only took down our order. The person i would actually tip was the man that kept refilling our water over and over without us even asking, brought our plates and took them away at the end; he was actually working.
Second of all, I am not obligated to tip. This is not the United States where toxic tipping culture is prominent. If you are unhappy with your pay, talk to your employer, not me.
Third of all, we were very clearly students. Neither me or my partner work full time but we still decided to tip out of gratitude and politeness. It wasnāt mandatory, and it shouldnāt be.
Long story short, if you wanna have respect as a customer, maybe...

Unfortunately the delivery caused it to be rather cold, but the amount of fresh figs was insane. I was not a fan of the paneer being crumbled, but my wife loved it and we downed the pizza before we even had the other food out of the bag. Would order again. Lamb Madras Poutine. This dish inexplicably survived the delivery. Cheese was a tad too melted for my liking, but the flavor was amazing and the chunks of lamb were numerous. I would definitely have this one again. Butter Chicken. The standard of any Indian restaurant in North America, right? Unfortunately, below my standards. Grainy, dry, and did not have that luxurious velvety goodness I am used to, nor did it have much spice. It was a solid okay, but would likely skip the next time we order. Almond Butter Lamb. An unexpected dish loaded with crunchy almond bits, tender pieces of lamb and a sauce that was rather complex, if not a bit mild for my liking (though my wife loved it). Served with rice and also the naan that we bought, it was excellent.
Learned a few new likes and dislikes, but will certainly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat happens when thousands of cultures collide and intermingle over thousands of years? Why, you get good food of course! India's cultural splendour permeates in this intimate restaurant setting which we were so eager to discover.
There's a decent collection of drinks to choose from to accommodate the many classic dishes on the menu. We took the vegetarian samosas as appetizers. They hit the mark beautifully and were but a preview of the delicacies that would soon be introduced to our table. Such delicacies, to be shared and savored appropriately, were the butter chicken, the shrimp madras and the chicken tikka masala each hungry customer at the table ordering a respective side of rice and garlic naan. This was the Goldilocks of Indian food: not too spicy, not too mild, just right. The food cognitively blasted us back to the various eras of Indian history. If only for a brief moment, we were to shake the hands of these cook apparitions, thanking them for their mighty culinary contribution. The food was delightful and well portioned.
