A Filling Experience with Unique Atmosphere and Quick Service
I recently dined at Jako, and it was a satisfying visit with a few noteworthy aspects.
First and foremost, the food portions were plentiful! I ordered both an appetizer and a main course, and the quantity was more than enough to fill me to the brim. In fact, just the main course alone would have sufficed. One tip: the food arrived piping hot, so it's worth letting it cool down a bit before digging in.
In terms of taste, the dishes were enjoyable, albeit nothing mind-blowing. The flavors were pleasant, but I didn't encounter any particularly unique or extraordinary culinary surprises. Nevertheless, the quality of the food was good, which definitely added to the overall experience.
The restaurant's atmosphere deserves special mention. It had a really cool and unique vibe, which added an extra touch of enjoyment to the evening. However, it was quite loud, making it challenging to hold a conversation with someone sitting right in front of me. So, if you're seeking a quieter dining experience, this might not be the ideal spot.
I visited the restaurant on a weekday for dinner, and I was impressed with the quick and friendly service. The staff were attentive and efficient, ensuring a smooth dining experience. Their service was truly amazing, contributing to the overall satisfaction of the visit.
Cleanliness was not an issue at all, as the establishment was well-maintained and tidy. It's always reassuring to dine in a clean environment, and this restaurant certainly delivered on that front.
Lastly, the value for the price paid was good. Considering the ample portions, quality of food, and efficient service, I felt that I received a fair deal.

Read moreExcellent, really liked the experience and they have a great balance of flavors. If you're wanting Korean Japanese fusion pub favorites at a very reasonable price with excellent presentation, this place is it. I was eyeing the Milkis Soju even though I don't drink, and people looked like they were having a good time with friends over reasonably priced pitchers. After seeing recommendation online, we ordered the Katsu Cream Chicken, tteokkochi, and okonomiyaki. They gave a nice serving of spicy pickles while we waited. The servers were very diligent and checked in and took our empty plates away with great timing. The spicy sweet sauce on the tteokkochi was nice and sticky, perfect texture on the crispy rice cakes. I love okonomiyaki and ordered it right away so I didn't look at the menu ingredients and was surprised by the udon. It was delicious, had all the right ingredients otherwise including grilled pork belly, but I still prefer the batter version. The Katsu cream comes with miso soup and I was surprised by the dashi notes, a pleasant change. The Katsu cream was so rich yet had a nice dainty flavor, and I was happy about the mushrooms in the sauce. The chicken was well tenderized and evenly breaded, the plate had the perfect amount of sauce, and the white rice was fresh. They had many flavors you wouldn't normally see, I'm exited to try more...

The food is consistently excellent and affordable, the vibe is really nice, great music, great host, great service. I hope these guys can make it long term. My favorite dishes are the tempura udon and the curry katsu. It's been a few times and the sakedon ran out, so I'm not sure what's going on with that dish, but I hope it comes back at some point.
Original review: Very good food! We bought takeout, ordered for 5:20, got there on time, waiting an additional 10 minutes and then ate everything 10 minutes later. Everything was still fresh and crispy, they packaged things so well to maximize the freshness.
I ordered a chicken curry don, a sake don, a bulgoggi udon soup and an okonomiyaki for a family of 2 adults, 2 children. The food was plenty with a few pieces leftover.
Everything was authentic tasting, reminding me almost exactly like Japan, they nailed the flavor so well. And even just ignoring comparisons to Japan, the food was just good. I'm happy I tried and I can't wait to...
