Response to owner: I have absolutely nothing to gain from writing this review except to warn people. The machine was not given to me the amount was shown and the tip amount was also indicated there was no option to click ok as you are stating since it was already selected by the person I only tapped my card without inputting anything as it was Already done for me. The fact that you are trying to justify this and make it seem like it's not possible is disgusting and no I can't provide receipt as it was not given to me but I could forsure show banking statement. I have also looked at reviews and another person has stated the same and I see a lot of people saying they paid 40$ something for burger and fries which makes me think you add tip on those too because otherwise price would not come up to that.

Beware We stumbled upon this location while I was giving a tour of the old port to my relatives that were visiting.

I told the guy behind the counter in french to give the machine to me to pay as I didn't want my guests to pay. He took this opportunity to add himself a generous tip without asking or telling me about it and had me tap on the machine. Which is a huge turn off for me. He probably thought I was also a tourist or that I wouldn't notice. Worst thing is I would have definitely left a few bucks tip as the place is cute but never as much as he added since this is more of a fast food joint and you bring your own food by yourself and clean up...

I had some out of town visitors for the new year and poutine was high on the list for lunch. Saint Burger is an attractive site to dine, with a great decor on the main floor, worthy of a visit. Order has to be placed and paid for, prior to getting to the table, on the upper level. Service was mediocre and we were given a beeper that would go on, when the order was ready for pickup and bring to our table.

I was expecting the place to be packed for lunch on the last day of the year, and interestingly enough, it was rather quiet. While I wrote earlier that the decor and furniture was inviting but what good is that when it was barricaded, and therefore not accessible.

I tried the Royal poutine that has multiple toppings, including smoked meat, bacon and pepperoni. Quality was just plain simple with the toppings being very dry. Smoke meat has to be moist and juicy, but was anything but this. The burger was just ok and nothing extraordinary.

Took 15min to order (2 people in front of me) (standing up like a fast-food) because there is 1 person at the counter and because he does the coffees, wraps up the food, basically does the job of 3 people. When you order you have to find a place or share a place with someone because there is a total of ~10 tables. There’s a VIP section that is always closed even when people don’t even have a place to sit and eat. I ordered a simple poutine with a glass of water. The poutine was made with frozen bagged undercooked fries. Still cold. 1 scoop of gravy that only covered half the poutine so the cheese (cut in squares from what I perceived to be mozzarella (not even real cheese curds)) we’re still cold and hard. The 15$ “poutine was also very small. They also just give you a glass and tell you where the sink is if you want water. I had to get my water in a sink between 2 families having their dinner… even McDonald’s give you a filled up glass of water when you order it. No music and cold. No parking either. -1/5 if that is possible. Terrible...

Went for breakfast, which uses typical bagels from Montreal's top bakeries. The bagel sandwich itself was quite good. The sides were basic, but in my opinion better than dumping a bunch of fries. A combination of both would be better though, because this comes out to quite the pricey breakfast. The setting is nice, retro, and interesting, but located in a basement so not as enticing. I'm likely not going back to eat there, unless I specifically want a very tasty bagel sandwich in the area and don't have time to go elsewhere. Unfortunate because the potential is there, and yet was on the verge of giving 3 stars. Note that you have to order before sitting down, and the washrooms are in the lawyer's offices on the third floor.

The restaurant itself is very pretty. I like the decor and It's also a little souvenir shop at the same time. I ordered a few times there and the food was good but service is a bit long. It looks like there's only one person working there so that might be why. Food is a bit too pricey in my opinion. The poutine is great though, if you like crispy fries you must try it ! ❤️ There was a generous amount of cheese too which I appreciated ! Also, I wonder why they gave me a cardboard box and plastic fork even if I asked to eat in the restaurant. It's just a detail, but I like when restaurants do their part for the environment. Overall, I would recommend if you are not in a hurry.
