You can’t really come on a first trip to Montreal without visiting Old Montreal and the adjacent Old Port area. The neighborhood is almost 400 years old, and it is home to several well-preserved streets and buildings constructed during the colonial era.

Simply wandering the curving cobblestone streets, with 19th-century buildings as your historical backdrop, is the most popular thing to do here. The whole area is a maze of narrow streets and alleyways, with interesting shops and restaurants tucked in hidden areas.

Old Montréal is best explored on foot, we started from Norte Dame Basilica.

Vieux-Montreal is where the city began, and its old buildings and cobblestone streets make it the most picturesque neighborhood in the city. This is where you'll also find the popular waterfront promenade along the Vieux-Port (Old Port).

Old Montreal is a special place and you don’t need to appreciate it to be from Montreal. This is like being in a pocket of Europe with the charm and architecture that makes you look up everywhere you walk. It’s candy for the eyes, stimulation for the mind especially if you’re into history, and its beauty with all the elegant shops, restaurants, and the waterfront. Lots to do all year round regardless of your budget or none at all. A great place just to walk around and pass time, a cosy area to have your fist date, a special place to go to celebrate - old...

I recently explored Le Vieux Montréal and found it to be a captivating experience. The area is rich in history and charm, with its cobblestone streets, beautifully preserved architecture, and vibrant atmosphere. Wandering through the historic district, I enjoyed the delightful mix of old-world charm and contemporary culture, from charming boutiques to excellent restaurants. Landmarks like Notre-Dame Basilica and the Old Port add to the area's allure. Le Vieux Montréal is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the heart and heritage...

A wonderful and best historic place in all of Canada. A must to visit if you come to Canada. It is lively and full of activities and worthwhile shops to go to especially amazing Inuit art and creative art galleries, many French and québécois eateries, and many historic buildings dating back 1700s. It will transport you to “Europe” even though you are actually not. Wonderful place to spend a few days and explore very close by areas such as the Port, the Chinatown, and the many historic buildings…
