Our family was in Montreal for one night and we were looking for a fun dining experience for the kiddos. Creperie Chez Suzette fit the bill and more! We went on a Friday night and the place was busy but not packed. The resto is in the old port neighbourhood. We were on the third floor and they had ginormous pretty windows with a lovely view of the street. The kids enjoyed looking out the window to watch cars get ticketed for illegally parking on the street below, while we waited for our food😁. We got 2 orders of escargot. Each order comes with 6 snails and bread . Kids enjoyed dipping the bread in the leftover garlic butter. Hubby ordered French onion soup - I cannot speak to the taste, but hubby enjoyed it and it looked very pretty. My youngest kiddo ordered the vegetarian crepe pizza. It’s not bad - but honestly not the greatest. Me and mi hijo mayor got the “Fondue Trio” for two. First I want to note that although it says on the menu that they charge extra for sharing the “fondue for 2”, we did not get charged extra for sharing. And we didn’t even need to “share under the table” - waiter gave us 4 plate settings. Definitely extra points for that! ❤️ This was my kiddos’ first fondue experience and they had so much fun Dunkin’ and Dippin’.
The first fondue course was the cheese fondue. It tasted to me like a traditional Swiss fondue. Kids loved it (disclaimer - my kiddos are adventurous eaters. If your kiddos like plain foods, the taste of Kirsch might be a turn off). I love that it was served with green apples and grapes. The tartness of the green apples and the mild sweetness of the grapes pairs really well with the richness of the cheese fondue. The second course was the fondue Chinoix. Kids also enjoyed the experience but it was so-so for me taste wise. It came with beef, chicken, a variety of veggies, and four kinds of sauces: a brown sauce that tasted like a samosa dip (I tasted tamarind), a very boring mayo-curry mixture, something that tastes like a bland thousand island, and a mayo and chive sauce (my favourite). The kids and hubby did not like the idea of having raw chicken on the table, so that was a bit distracting. I just threw them all in the broth right away to shut them up. The final course was a (dark) chocolate fondue which was served with strawberries, bananas, honeydew, pineapple, marshmallows, and crepe. My kids were in heaven.
The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive. Our water glasses got refilled without having to ask. He provided four plate settings for the fondue (even though we ordered the “fondue for two” and did not get charged for sharing), and gave us spoons to clean off the chocolate from the fondue “pot”. He was genuinely friendly to the kiddos - and not in a patronizing way. He didn’t rush to bring it food. And made sure we were ready for the next course before bringing it in. For a high traffic “tourist” restaurant that expects a fast table turn over - we did not feel rushed at all.
Oh yeah, we also ordered hot apple cider (hard for me, virgin for the kids). It was delicious.
Overall, a very positive and fun family dining experience. We are looking forward to returning and trying out the crepes on...

I’ve never left a restaurant feeling so humiliated, angry, and honestly, scared. What happened to us here was absolutely outrageous and unacceptable.
From the very beginning, the waitress (we don’t know her name) an older, slim woman with visible wrinkles, who seemed to be well past middle age -made a wildly inappropriate and offensive comment by asking my friend (who is Ukrainian) if she was from India. We were shocked by this bizarre and borderline racist question, but tried to brush it off and enjoy our meal.
The food itself was actually decent - nothing extraordinary, but good enough. Unfortunately, whatever enjoyment we had was completely destroyed by what happened at the end of our visit.
When it came time to pay, one of us chose not to leave a tip. Let me be clear: tipping in Canada is not mandatory -it’s voluntary and based on service. The moment this woman realized that not everyone was tipping, she completely lost control. She aggressively snatched the payment terminal out of our hands, started, lecturing us, and trying to publicly shame and humiliate us for not tipping. She demanded to know where we were from (though she already knew), clearly trying to intimidate us and bully us for being foreigners.
She even lied, saying she doesn’t get a salary and relies only on tips -which, by the way, is illegal in Canada, and just shows the level of manipulation she was trying to pull. She treated us like clueless fools who would fall for any guilt trip, and tried to force us into giving her money she didn’t deserve.
Her entire behavior was not just unprofessional - it was abusive, racist, and completely unhinged. She ruined our mood, scared us, and made us feel deeply unwelcome in what’s supposed to be a multicultural and tolerant city.
The food might have been okay, but I would never, ever come back, and I strongly advise everyone to stay away from this place. No amount of pancakes is worth being yelled at, bullied, and racially profiled by someone who clearly has no place working in customer...

We came with 3 adults, 3 children (ages 5, 7, 9) and one infant around 2:30pm. The bottom floor was all taken so we were guided to the 2nd floor where there was much more room to walk between tables and more suitable for young children.
There was room to store the stroller on the main floor behind a smaller room behind doors which helped. If we wanted to bring the stroller up to the 2nd floor I am sure that would have been accommodated.
Staff are jovial, amusing, competent and considerate. Our servers was great with children. That counts for a lot.
The crepes themselves are soft, pliable, fluffier, moist and eggy without the eggy taste. Some places make the crepe too dry and thin for my liking.
La Charlevoix crepe stuffed with just the right amount of ham, brie, spinach and bechamel sauce came with 2 crepes that could be shared. The brie shines through.
The Vida Loca cold milkshake with dark chocolate, milk, Baileys and whipped cream was reminisce of an egg nog without the egg nog taste. Not too sweet at all and easy to drink. Whipped cream is not a mountain on top but more whipped into the drink before serving.
It is great to be able to order crepes specifically for kids in a portion that they could consume. The Quebecoise fit the bill and they were even given a large dispenser of maple syrup to go with it.
We just couldn't stop here so for novelty we also ordered the Chocolate fondue for 2 persons which excellently fulfilled everyone's sweet needs to dip something in chocolate. It was the perfect amount for the 6 of us to have just enough to satiate us after an...
