06/18/23 We came here after the race on a Sunday night and well parking was impossible which made us late. If you're new to the area be sure to plan ahead and be prepared to look for free parking. Walking in you had the option on to sit at the bar/lounge or in the dining room. We opted for the dining room and we had Yoan. We started with the Baked Brie and the Garlic Cheesy Toast. The Brie was outstanding. The pesto was so flavorful and fresh and the spicy jam that is served with it was out of this world. The garlic cheesy toast is an absolute classic and the fresh garlic is really complimented on there it truly left us speechless at both appetizers. There is also fresh bread served with a savory compound butter that is at perfect temperature and was also very good.
Unfortunately that's where things took a turn. We waited 35 minutes for our entrees which comes down one of three issues. They either are understaffed, the front of house sat everyone down at once or they really got held behind. Either way waiting 35 minutes for 2 steaks is inexcusable BUT! we were treated by Yoan very respectfully as well as the manager came up to us and apologized many many times and I must say the customer service really saved this for me as I will return next year for sure. They are great people there especially the manager. The ambiance is also perfect I might add even at the lounge.
Moving on to entrees we had the 22oz prime rib and it is truly incredible. Especially with the red wine jus. Absolutely perfect. I had the 12oz peppercorn sirloin. Unfortunately it came blue. I don't appreciate receiving steak that was carelessly sent out by the kitchen as they knew they were behind on food. Nonetheless it was fixed and it was perfect medium rare as asked and I must say it is super flavorful and tasty. The whisky sauce is incredible on the steak and it really compliments it well. Garlic mashed potatoes was incredible and worth getting. Unfortunately I wanted to have desert but with the timing from appetizer to entree I was bloated by the end so I didn't feel like eating desert. The manager comped us on half the food we ordered which we appreciate and again I will be returning at this location despite the mistakes that had happened. I truly recommend this restaurant even though I didn't have the best of service their customer service is top notch!

Read moreI am a loyal Keg diner for 40+ years having celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, special occasions and regular dining in numerous locations coast to coast but this location is an unfortunate exception to the usual enjoyable and satisfying experience as this restaurant is the absolute worst. The management here would be the obvious problem as the server we had tonight was either totally inexperienced or just poorly trained which completely ruined our first night visiting Montreal. The beer taps were apparently broken tonight and the suggested canned IPA beer was terrible and undrinkable. We received only one order of escargot as the waitress somehow assumed we were sharing. We ate solo waiting forever for another appetizer. The waitress was so inattentive that we weren’t even able to order our entrees or order a different beer as she spent too much time engaging in lengthy conversations with guests at other tables completely ignoring us. There was never any sign of a floor manager to appeal to for assistance. As our impatience, frustration and temper grew we were ready to walk out but finally received and paid our bill including the two full undrinkable beer and returned to our hotel in a bad mood. Thank you management and server for ruining our first night visiting Montreal. Coincidentally we had dined 6 nights ago at the Toronto York Keg location and posted rave reviews after experiencing an excellent and exceptional...
Read moreNice place for some good meat. Went there for supper with my son and we ate very well. Portions are good. Prices are a little expensive but you only live once so don't let that stop you and go try it and have fun. I had the steak and snow crab special and it was very good. It was my first time eating snow crab. My son had the tuna tartar entrée and the 14oz. prime rib. We shared a bottle of Shiraz wine to compliment our meals. I brought home a piece of chocolate cake and not only was it HUGE but it was amazing. The restaurant itself was chic with dim lighting and comfortable seats. We had a booth. There is also a bar side of the restaurant with its own door entrance which was full and hopping with people. Our reservation was noted and respected, we didn't have to wait. As soon as we arrived a hostess took us to our table(booth). Our waitress Lili was good but not ultra quick on picking up our finished dishes and only poured us wine once. Lili was polite and cute but she could have been a little faster and more present. I recommend this restaurant. The food was delicious. We will definitely be going back often. They have many locations but this one in old Montréal has a little, je ne sais quoi. Here's their address: 25 Rue Saint-Paul E, Montréal, QC H2Y 1G2 Go try it, you won't regret it ! GO NOW, STOP HESITATING! GO GO...
