The establishment is beautiful but the server had an attitude the moment we stepped in through the door. There is a sign that says wait to be seated and we stood there for about 5 minutes with no one to greet us. We asked if we could seat ourselves and they said we could sit where we wanted so we grabbed our own menus and sat down. Our waitress was a young girl in her 20’s, fair skinned with brown hair. She took our order and since we didn’t speak French she seemed to get frustrated and raised her voice at us and pressured us into ordering quickly even though the establishment was practically empty due to the snow storm. The food was okay, I had ordered a lox bagel and it was presented beautifully but the salmon was flavorless as well as the cream cheese. The only salted item on the plate were the pickled onions and capers. The Cubano coffee was delicious though. She practically threw the plates on the table and messed up our order (which she responded by saying we can just keep the plate and they will make the correct sandwich) then proceeded to charge us with the extra sandwich. When other customers arrived she was treating them all nicely, she seated them and was very friendly and warm with them to the point were she would be laughing and smiling with them. When it came time for the check she hovered over my fiancée to see if she would give her a tip. Then right before we left she said “by the way there is a 15% tip minimum that isn’t added to the bill just to let you know”. We laughed and shrugged her off while we put our jackets on and left. My fiancée left her only 5% to which she should be happy because she deserved nothing for the HORRIBLE SERVICE! A part of me felt like I was mistreated because we were dark skinned or maybe because we were Americans. We told her sorry that we didn’t speak French and if she spoke English in the beginning and since then she kept treating us badly. The restaurant is beautiful with decent food but truly lacking in service. They should definitely do something about it if they want tourists to leave with a good impression. I will never go back due to the bad service and mistreatment from the employees. If your an American I wouldn’t recommend visiting this place, also it’s rather expensive for unseasoned food. There are much better restaurants than this! That respect their paying customers and treat them equally! She should be fired for being so ignorant and prejudice. The cherry on top was when she started laughing with the other girl working there when we left her with no tip. Honestly we would’ve tipped good if she was worth it! But she wasn’t worth a cent and I regret even leaving 5%.

This establishment needs help.I came in here a couple weeks ago with a group of 6. We placed orders for lunch and the server came back at least 5 times to tell us things we ordered were no longer available. Get this. They don't have poached eggs but they have scrambled eggs. That was a head scratcher. We should've taken that statement as a red flag and left. When the food was eventually sorted the meals were fine. However, the confusion and constant back and forth made things less enjoyable. When it came to paying the bills, most of it was incorrect; they were good about fixing it but it took a long time. When it was time to pay, I was handed a machine first to pay my portion (there were 6 of us doing a transaction each) and this server just leaves and decides to go eat his lunch. We can literally see him sitting across from us enjoying a meal and conversing with his colleagues. We thought this must be some weird joke. We had to flag down someone else to finish it all up. I'd never come back until people are trained and they actually have most of their menu available.

As a group of four, we came for breakfast on a Sunday morning. There was a bit of a wait (I think it was around 15 minutes), which we spent on some benches across the street. The wait was worth it. To start. the drinks were great. I had coffee and others sampled a variety of their offerings - everything tasted good and hit thr spot. I somewhat regret not getting a drink with Lucky Charms, which seems to be their thing. A table near us had drinks with Lucky Charms, and they looked so fun! I had the audacious chicken (Coq-Audacieux) and it was a really good way to start the day. The spicy mayo wasn't spicy but it was tangy and added to the sandwich. Each bite was good. We had the stellina, which tasted amazing. I didn't get to try the other two dishes but was told that they were very tasty. From a drink perspective, everything was on point and good to the last drop. Service was great. The servers really made us feel welcome and at home. This was the last day of our trip to Montreal, and visiting was a wonderful way to start off the day.

This morning, my family and I took a leisurely walk to Tommy Café, eager to try out the coffee shop for the first time. From the moment we stepped inside, we were pleased with the welcoming ambiance. The interior had a charming and modern vibe, with natural light streaming in and an inviting blend of cozy seating and elegant decor. It felt like the perfect spot for a relaxed family brunch.

I ordered a Latte Chai, which was aromatic and perfectly balanced—an excellent choice to start the day. For brunch, I opted for LA TOTALE, which consisted of French toast, scrambled eggs, and a side of maple syrup. While the dish typically comes with bacon or sausage, I substituted the pork with chicken, and the kitchen was happy to accommodate my request. Every bite of the meal was delicious and filling. The French toast was fluffy and golden, the scrambled eggs were cooked just right, and the maple syrup tied everything together beautifully.

Our server, Kaylee, provided exceptional service. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. She also checked in on us at just the right moments without being intrusive, which made our experience all the more enjoyable.

Overall, Tommy Café exceeded our expectations. The ambiance, food, and service all combined to make our visit memorable. We left feeling satisfied and already looking forward to our next visit. If you're looking for a cozy café with great food and excellent service, Tommy Café is...

We were a party of 3 that came on a Monday afternoon, we were told to wait outside while our table was being prepared (~2-5 mins as she gestured toward our dirty table) and she would call us to come inside when the table was ready. However, We noticed she allowed other folks to wait indoors. After 15 mins we saw that our table was offered to another guest. Only after walking back inside did she seat us at another table. Service is externally slow and we weren't offered water or greeted for another 15-20 mins. We were also informed nearly everything was sold out and the menu was very limited. The wait to place our order took longer and we felt there was no service as we hailed our waiter down to get our food order placed. Because everything was extremely slow, we timed how long it would take to get 2 sandwiches and 1 mac and cheese. After an hour and 1 minute did our food finally arrive. For 2 Luke warm sandwiches and a mac and cheese, it was not worth the wait. For a total of 4 hours spent here, from waiting to get seated to paying for our bill on a Monday, I couldn't imagine spending half a day on a BUSY day for a sandwich. If you want to wait over an hour for subpar food and non existent service, then this is the place. Otherwise I have had wonderful service at their other location...
