Mike's Place Pub — Restaurant in Nelson

This place is an must visit if you are in Nelson!! There is no way you could possibly be dissapointed. We were in Nelson for 4 nights and wanted to try a selection of places but after our first meal here we just couldn't get past it!! The selection has something for literally everyone. Every items was a 10/10 homemade tasty food. Portions were very satifying and the quality was of the charts. Bravo!! to Mikes Pub. The staff and service was extremely wonderful. We did take out a few times and this was the most easiest take out service I have ever experienced as well. The lady taking our order was so polite, professional and on the ball. She double checked our order before putting it in. Each time our order came with absolutely everything. Thank you!! It would be worth a trip to Nelson just to experience this perfection again. When eating out for 4 to 5 days you get wanting healthy food, here the salad was delicious fresh and crispy. The pasta was clearly homemade from actual scratch, fish was halibut, veal was tender...

The moment i set foot (not even at the bar ordering what so ever, literally waking in) with my wife and family for MY BIRTHDAY, a women named BRIANNA asked me and my wife directly for our cards and not the rest of our family (we are 25).. we arrived at 6:30p.m.. who does that?… by the way there were kids running around.. you card adults at 6:30p.m but kids are allowed in the establishment, and weirdly only 2 people out of the group, makes no sense..ending up not even taking a drink of the night so Brianna was very proactive on the carding part! Food was blend and boring, doesn’t even seem like they put salt and pepper in their food.. would not recommend unless you want to play pool or babyfoot which they do have a nice place to do so! Very bad experience! Will not come back. P.s: my sister ended up paying for the piece of cake which they don’t offer apparently😂icing on the cake! We left as fast as we could. Very disappointed for my family...

I usually have good experiences but on November 3rd I was out for drinks and recieved wine on ice instead of the double vodka cran I ordered, not sure if they thought I was too drunk to notice or if it was an accident so I took it back and they made a snarky face when I asked the bartenders to remake it. When he did, he took a gulp of my drink with his mouth to "make sure it was the right one" (his words) which obviously I asked him to remake it again because that's unsanitary/gross. I don't know where his mouth has been. When he did I said "thanks but don't screw me over I'm not actually that drunk" , then all the bartenders laughed at me and were making fun of me because I didn't want to take the drink he gulped out of.
