My husband is allergic to fish but I brought him here and he got full faster than me!!! The Japanese fare is so on point, it’s an experience of excellence we did not meet except for when we went to Japan. When we got there, I ordered everything I would usually get at an all you can eat restaurant and when I was really full, I started looking at the menu more closely. That’s when I discovered so many cool new things I had never seen before!! Like fruit and cheese rolls, the never before seen fruit dragon roll, mango on everything you can think of, traditional takoyaki!!!!! And for my Italian heart, a prosciutto, salmon and cheese maki roll!! I have to go back just to try stuff I have never tried before and I’m so excited to do it. The freshness of the fish was totally noticed as everything tasted buttery, fresh and delicious. I also appreciated the small portion sizes so I could order more and try different things! And everything tasted so so good. But the quality of the food was not the only thing that impressed us here. Everyone smiled at me when I walked in, thanked me for being there and asked how I was. The food came out quickly and all our orders were correct. The ice in my fountain coca-cola never reached the bottom of my glass. Before my drink was even completely finished, Ashely was there to offer me another. Before my husband finished his beer, same exact thing, every, single, time. Usually sushi restaurants are so busy that I always have to wait for my refills but not here. And this place was PACKED. a birthday party of 15 came in while the entire restaurant was full. It seriously amazed us. Another thing that seems to be highly coveted at sushi restaurants is napkins! For some reason we never have enough and it takes forever for new ones to come. Because of this, I use and reuse my napkin. But Emily came in, put a bunch of fresh new napkins down on the tables when she circled back she noticed I was still using my dirty napkin with new ones beside my plate. She quickly grabbed it so as to say “there are new ones there and I’ll bring you more when you need them” and I was just astonished. Seriously couldn’t say one bad thing about this place. If there was a place deserving of way more than a 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend, East Izakaya...
Read moreTwo weeks ago, my husband and I came here from New York for the weekend to celebrate his 30th birthday. We love Japanese food and izakaya, so I thought this would be perfect, especially with all you can eat! I booked a reservation for 7pm and we were seated in 5 minutes after tables were cleared. The greeter gave us a brief explanation on how to order using the iPad -- however, it was not clear because we thought we had placed an order but ended up waiting for 30 minutes. Our assigned server came once in the very beginning to ask us about drinks, but since we had just sat down, we told her we needed time to look. The server never came back, nor did other servers notice that no one was attending to us. I ended up walking up to the greeter to let her know about our order and lack of service, and she immediately resolved it by explaining that we were supposed to leave the iPad out with the order window open so that workers would notice to confirm our orders. It was still a bit frustrating because we would have thought SOMEONE, especially our assigned server, would have noticed that we were unattended for half an hour??
However, as soon as the orders were confirmed, our food came out immediately so we enjoyed the rest of our time at East Izakaya. I'm not sure if the greeter re-assigned a different server after our complaint, but Yao regularly checked in with us throughout the night. Every food we ordered was wonderful, and we consumed a lot of skewers, sashimi, sushi, and rolls! I was blown away by the generous portion sizes of the sashimi and the freshness!
When my husband got up to go use the restroom, Yao came to me and asked if it was okay to surprised him with their robot server to deliver a cake with a happy birthday song. This was such a fun service, and I loved the plating of the cake (and my husband said it was good!) 😄
Overall, we had a rough start to our first experience at East Izakaya, but we definitely had a great time and were very stuffed with so much good food! Yao was such a a wonderful and attentive server! We hope to be back again, and for any new customers...make sure you DON'T close the order window even after you hit the...
Read moreWe come almost two hours away just for this place. My wife adores the torched salmon sushi. It melts in your mouth.
I love all the raw options such as the beef tartar, plenty of sashimi options, and loads of octopus options as well.
The variety of fish and cooked dishes you can order here is plentiful and we have yet to encounter any dish that wasn't absolutely delicious!
It's truly one of the best sushi places we've been to.
All of the staff are incredibly polite and helpful, and come around very often.
The first time we ate here, it was my wife's birthday and the staff and the robot server sang Happy Birthday to her, they also gave her a special desert!
This trip was made extra special because we had the absolute pleasure of befriending one of the managers Tracy.
She took our reservation for 8pm. We ended up showing up at a quarter past 7. She let us know that she would give us a call and 15 minutes later I received a call saying our table was ready.
Tracy was incredibly personable, kind and such an incredible host.
She asked us about ourselves, checked in on us and it made our experience genuinely special. When we asked one of the waitstaff for her name, even they were singing her praises.
I let her know that as a manager, she was doing an incredible job with the training; as every single person we interacted with had incredible manners, was polite, helpful and all seemed to be on the same page.
Tracy's positive and pleasant energy seems to infect her staff and anyone she interacts with. If anything, in addition to the incredible food, we will make the drive just to see her and...
