Horrified and Concerned: Subway Sold Me Spoiled Food
I have been a loyal customer of Subway for years, but my recent experience at this location has left me absolutely horrified. I ordered a jerk chicken rice bowl, expecting the fresh quality Subway prides itself on. Instead, I was served spoiled chicken that tasted as if it had been sitting out for days. The meat was so rancid that it made me gag after just one bite. It’s clear that instead of discarding unsold items, this location is willing to serve expired food until it’s gone, risking customers' health in the process.
What’s even more disturbing is that my friend, who ordered the food for me, noticed the Subway staff sniffing my food while serving the meal and before handing it over. If you suspected something was off, why proceed to sell it to me? That’s not just negligence—that’s playing with people’s lives.
When I called to report the issue and request a refund, I was met with lies. The staff claimed the chicken was "fresh" from that day, but the putrid smell and taste told a very different story. Instead of a refund, they offered to remake the meal, as if I’d trust them to prepare something else after such a terrible experience. It’s not about the money—it’s about integrity and respect for your customers' health.
I will be reporting this specific Subway location to Health Canada because it’s clear they are not following proper food safety protocols. Upon looking at reviews, I noticed others have had similar complaints of stale, off-smelling food over the years. This isn't just a one-time slip-up; it’s a pattern of negligence that needs to be addressed before someone gets seriously ill.
Thanks to this chain, I am so traumatized that I will never eat at any Subway ever again. Subway, if you can't guarantee the safety of your food, you shouldn’t be...
Read moreI wanted the sub of the day but as a salad, so I asked if I could still get the deal and was told I could. When I went to pay, I was told it was much higher than I expected. I know salads cost $2.25 more than the equivalent sub (side rant - which makes no sense at all, since I get a little more lettuce but don't get a bun, so that must at least break even for them, if not actually be cheaper)... but I was charged the normal price plus $2.25.
When I said that was wrong, the manager came out and told me the deal of the day doesn't apply to salads. But since her employee told me wrong, she would refund the difference. No official refund (I had to pay before I could even see the prices because they had to print me a receipt)... manager did mental math and said I was overcharged by $1, so she gave me $1.25 cash back. I checked the prices after and I was overcharged by a full $2
I know it's small, but being fed misinformation to start, and not being properly compensated after the mistake, and I won't be returning here again.
And next time I go Subway for lunch (but definitely a different location), I'll be getting the 6" sub, asking for extra lettuce, then dumping the bun in the garbage and just eating my salad for $4.39 instead of $8.64!...
Read moreMy wife’s Subway app got hacked/ data breach, and someone ordered a sandwich on our account to this location. We called the location and spoke to Rupinder and explained the situation and asked her to cancel the order, not make the order, and a phone number for corporate/manager. Rupinder told us she does not have a number for corporate and cannot cancel the order on her end, but said she would not make the order. She told us she would talk to her manager and would get back to us within 5 minutes. After 10 minutes with no call, we called back and spoke to Rupinder again, who said she gave the order to the guy who fraudulent put an order through our account. When confronted on why she would give someone an order she knows we’re from stolen funds, er excuse was because she “didn’t want him making noise”. After much more arguing and asking for a manager or corporates number she said she would ask her manager her for his phone number and would call us back, she then hung up on us. We never did hear back from her.
Overall a very terrible experience, we called over 8 times and were hung up on regularly. We still do not know how our account was compromised and we have not...
