First of all, I want to say that the servers were all very kind, but unfortunately most of the food was terrible at Lou Dawg’s. My wife is from Kentucky, and we’ve had some delicious Southern style BBQ before, but I doubt it would have taken that to have noticed that the Southern BBQ was so lacking here. We ordered the 1/2 of smoked ribs, as well as the three meat platter — the fried chicken was okay, but the rest was hugely disappointing. The ribs were served to us still cold on the bottom… even after being heated up some, they were not at all tender and we struggled to eat them. The beef brisket was tough, gristly and at least half of it was just fat. The pulled pork was flavourless aside from a gamey taste and was also served to us lukewarm. We had to ask for extra barbecue sauce to help add some flavour to the meat, which came to us ice cold (like it was taken out of the fridge — an odd choice for serving with all hot foods). Overall, the impression I got was that all of the food was prepackaged frozen foods that had been simply unthawed and reheated for a bit before being served to us. I absolutely would not recommend Lou Dawg’s to anyone after our experience here, so please exercise caution if you plan to stop by in the future.

On a recent camping trip I decided to try something new for a meal to go, and not a chain restaurant so I found Lou Dawgs in North Bay. First impression was good, it's a cool looking restaurant, lots of wood. Country theme bar is how it felt. The service was excellent, I don't know the ladies name behind the bar but she was extremely good at her job and made me feel welcome. Very kind and helpful. The food was good. I had the three meat platter. The brisket was PERFECTLY cooked. Tender and even the fat on it was edible and melted in my mouth. The pulled pork was tender and not fatty. The fried chicken was juicy and boneless, I wonder if it was thigh maybe...it was good too! The corn bread muffin was moist and fresh and the two dinner rolls were very fresh. pickled onions were tasty and the mac and cheese was creamy and a nice side for the meal......MY ONLY COMPLAINT: where is the BBQ sauce? A tangy, spicy BBQ sauce would go so great with this meal. Like it would perfect it. There wasn't any that I could see so small disappointment. Would I go back? Yes, but I would ask for BBQ sauce if it's available.

Met friends tonight for dinner on the patio on Oak St. We were the only ones out there =) Service was good. Food was very good. We had the dinner for 2 $50 You choose one appy (3 large mac balls - we gave one to our friends to share) 4 meats (2x brisket, pulled pork and fried chicken) 4 sides, tater tots, pork and bean (excellent!!) Potato salad, beans and corn And you get a dessert (brownie was our only choice, and we had it to go) Our meal was delicious, GREAT value.. we brought some home for lunch. The brisket is excellent as are the beans. The fried chicken was great but it was a boneless chick breast with a delicous coating, no bones! One of our friends had a 3 meats and 2 sides, his was excellent as well. Our second friend had fish and chips... Not impressed. Frozen piece of fish, kinda like a cpt Highliner. I liked that they had lids for the containers for take home. We will be back, she will have to order something different

Me, my wife and my youngest son, stopped in as we one a couple of gift certificates and decided to have a bite. The entrance appeared to be under construction with no sign to even indicate it was open, we had to look online to make sure it was open before trying to find our way in. The waitress was friendly and got us our drinks and menu's, I had ordered the fish and chip's and to my disappointment the fish appeared to be frozen captain highliner's that were deep fried, the french fries were doused in salt heavily. My son ordered a burrito of sorts that was too spicy for him to eat, my wife had ordered chicken and waffles only to find there was almost no chicken and just batter. My wife asked me if I could see our waitress as she wanted a drink refill and our waitress along with two others were at the bar talking with there backs towards us, anyway all and all the food was disappointing, my son felt sick when we left and me and my wife left with upset stomach's. To add to this it was hot outside and just as hot inside as the restaurant doors where open and it appeared that there is no air conditioning, this wouldn't be horrible other then there also seemed to be no fan's so the place was hot and full of "dead/stale" air. This really is a shame as this restaurant has an opportunity to be...

Ive been to Lou Dawgs twice now. The first time there I had an amazing Experience the food was awesome and delicious super impressed. However fast forward to the most recent experience and it was terrible. This locations hours state themselves as open on Weekends during Lunch, so naturally myself and my wife and two friends drove down to have lunch and were super disappointed to find out that it was CLOSED!... we decided we would go and do something else and come back for dinner. when we came back for dinner we felt like we were ignored by the server, who was invisible at best. As well as he didn’t really know the menu so when we had questions he would reply with “I have no idea” and “sure why not”. Once the food came my wife’s poutine was cold and misleading and our Deep fried Mac N cheese balls were cold as well. Between dropping off the food and coming back to ask about bills he never came by once. Wish we would have gotten the chance to complain about the food but we didn’t. on our way out I decided I’d try and inform him about the hours on google and he said that he’d get the owner. But instead went and hid behind the bar.

Always order the meat platters! The brisket is outstanding! The rest of the menu. Mediocre at best!

Here to hopefully a great...
