Dave & Buster's Oakville — Restaurant in Oakville

We have been here many times and each experience has been pleasant. My son's 10th birthday party was also held here. The waitresses in the party room on the 2nd floor really impressed me at that time. But unfortunately, my friend and I were very disappointed with our visit today. Regarding the service, I have no idea what happened after not being here for more than half a year. As soon as we entered the hall, the staff at the reception desk greeted us warmly. When I asked what promotions they have recently, she told me there was a combo menu and told us that these menus were on the dining table and asked us to go directly to the dining table area. When we entered the dining area on the right side of the entrance, there were only 2 to 3 tables of guests inside. Over 80% of the tables were empty and there was no waiter at the reception desk. We waited for a short while and still had no waiter, so we decided to walk into a table and sit down to look at the menu. At this moment, a waitress hurriedly came over and made us step back immediately with very unfriendly gestures and tones. After we back to the reception area and waited for a while, another waitress came and led us to a table. After we sat down, we waited for a long time but no waiter came. It wasn't that there was no one, but all three waitresses were gathered at the reception desk. The waiter who made us step back with exaggerated gestures seemed to be complaining about us to the other two waiters and repeatedly demonstrated her gesture to make us step back. Frankly speaking, if it weren't for the children being so happy and wanting to play, I would have begun to think about leaving this place. I fully understand that usually there must be waiters leading the seats. But since there was no one at the reception desk and all the tables were empty, it wasn't a huge crime for us to walk to a table by ourselves to look at the menu. There was no need to treat customers with a tone and gesture like a warning. And after we sat down, she kept chattering and complaining in front of us. Didn't she realize that her such a bad service attitude was more worthy of attention? During this process, I noticed that a father sat down with his child for a long time, but no waiter came. Eventually, they chose to get up and leave. Fortunately, the lady serving our table was very dedicated and kind, offsetting our unpleasantness. Later, a male manager in a baseball shirt who came over was also very kind and greeted us proactively, allowing us to regain the feeling we had when we came here before. Meanwhile, we clearly observed that the lady who was rude to us seemed much more friendly to other guests. This review has been written on multiple levels as we had a good experience and bad experience. First off we went to the bar area and decided we were gonna have some food and drinks. Our server came over and take our order and it took at least 15 minutes if not more just to get the drinks. The bar is basically empty. There was three other tables of two people, and that was it. There was two other servers and one guy making the drinks. The guy that was making the drinks was too busy being on his phone and flipping bottles instead of making drinks. Our server came up to us and apologize for the wait and said the drinks wouldn’t be much longer. She took our food order and we basically got our drinks a minute before our food came. We ordered chicken fingers and fries and mozzarella sticks. The chicken fingers were the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen and we’re basically all breading. Thin, tiny little morsels with no meat and all breading. I bit into one and got no meat. The fries tasted like they’ve been sitting there for a while and were reheated, but they were still somehow cold as was the chicken.the mozzarella sticks were okay but also cold and for $11 we got 5 small sticks, I’m would have thought there would be 6-8 at least for that price , but regardless they tasted okay and we ate them. We brought the chicken fingers up to the bar because we didn’t see our server and we told the bartender they were cold and not good, he couldn’t have cared less and didn’t offer to get us a new order or anything, just literally didn’t care at all. Our server came back and did apologize and said that the chicken fingers definitely didn’t look right and she apologized many times. She did take all the food off the bill and gave us a play card. I wasn’t expecting the play card or the free mozzarella sticks sticks, I just didn’t want to pay for the chicken fingers since we didn’t eat them, but she comped all the food and gave us a gaming card. I commend her for what she did as I wasn’t expecting that. Her service was good, but because of how slow the bartender was and because other staff were standing around, the service was slow because she seemed to be the only person doing anything. The arcade was great and we had a good time playing the games. It’s a shame because the atmosphere of the bar and great, the prices weren’t bad and the idea of the menu was great, but the food just didn’t hold up. I wasn’t expecting anything fancy for an arcade but I figured that chicken fingers would be at least good. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend the food here. Our server went above and beyond but due to other staff messing around, the service was slow. I’ll come back to use the arcade and have some drinks, but I’ll eat...
