Swiss Chalet — Restaurant in Oakville

I was there last weekend for dinner with the party of five people. The customer service of the waitress was less than satisfactory. Seemed to be that the waitress needed to follow a certain process to take our orders, not allowing us to ask a question before we placed our drink order. When my particular food arrived. It was lukewarm, but we had waited a little bit longer than anticipated so I didn’t want to take the time to send it back. When the waitress brought our bills which there were only two bills for five people, she took payment immediately for one of the bills and then left the table for some reason went serve food to the table while I waited to pay my bill, causing for the delay in us leaving the restaurant. The restaurant was extremely slow that evening, so I was not happy with the overall service we typically have had great service when dining at this particular location, but for some reason, the service was not as good as we...

We brought our 93 year old grandmother for dinner tonight because Swiss Chalet is her favourite. Julie was our waitress and was so lovely. She provided the best service I’ve had from a restaurant (of any calibre) in a very long time. Not only was she incredibly friendly and on the ball with our orders, but she also took the time to make small gestures that had great impact. Our grandmother has several dietary restrictions and therefore cannot eat the desserts on the menu. But rather than have her feel left out, Julie put a birthday candle in an apple sauce (which she LOVED!) and brought the whole team out to sing happy birthday. Thank you, Julie, for the extra care and consideration you took in handling our party. We had such a great experience at the Cross Ave Swiss Chalet/Harvey’s location! We went on a Monday around dinner time and chose to eat our Harvey’s meals in the dining area and came with our toddler. The young hostess was incredibly kind and thoughtful — she brought us a high chair even though we weren’t seated on the Swiss Chalet side. When our little one started getting fussy, she offered him a toy and a colouring sheet, and he really felt comfortable with her — he kept going over to her, and she didn’t mind at all. She was so patient and warm, and even gave him a sticker, which made his day. It’s rare to experience that kind of genuine care and kindness.
