JY Jewellery — Local services in Oakville

I came to JY Jewellery needing to purchase a pendant and have it engraved on very short notice (within a day) for my girlfriend's birthday. I had tried other places and either a) could not find a suitable gold pendant for a great price or b) engraving services within a reasonable time.

Christina was extremely polite, helpful, compassionate and fair when working with me to find the best solution-- in this case a gold heart pendant, and at a great price. When asking her about engraving services and timelines, she told me they could try to have it done by either the next afternoon or the first day of the following week (latest). This was an outstanding timeline, considering everywhere else I went said 2-3 weeks minimum. I asked if they could try to have it by the day after if possible since I was in the area, and to have both the initials I requested and a # all put on a tiny heart pendant. She said they would do their best.

I then got a call the next morning--they were able to engrave the initials and number I asked for and make the pendant look fantastic, all by the following afternoon. Very impressive!

I am extremely grateful and will be coming back here for any Jewellery-related products and engraving services moving forward. I highly recommend this place for any Jewellery or services anywhere within the GTA (but especially the Oakville area). You can tell that they are nice, honest people running an honest business who are willing to work with you to provide fair prices for their products and any advice that you need to help lead you to the the correct decision. I am updating my review as a result of my most recent experience. I thought i had a good relationship with the folks at JY but it appears i was wrong. I like to give my business to smaller shops as i am big promoter of local businesses in the work i do. Recently i went in for a repair, the belt loop that holds the band of the watch after you put it on, fell on the floor, i gave it to them, and now they say they dont have it. i could also be wrong but i said ok no problem, and i asked if there is anything they can do to help me out. As i had been there already 4 times before for other work. I asked if he could put any old loop on my watch, he said he didn't have any but he could order one if need be. But then he came out with a bunch of watch band kits with loops in them.The owner John tried to sell me more product. he wanted me to buy an entire watch band kit just so he can use the loop from that kit for my watch. The rest would be throw away. In all my life, and i own expensive watches, i have never seen a a watch shop that didn't have spare parts laying around. Or make an attempt to retain your business. So now i know where their priorities are. They rather make $10-15 on a product you don't even need, instead of retaining you as a long term customer. This is the kind of mentality you are dealing with here. I just left Knar Jewellery on Cornwall road and they didn't hesitate to give me the free loop for the band.. So i will be returning to Knar for maintenance on our Cartier Tank and Schaffhausen Aligator watches. I hope everyone considering JY learns from my experience. Shame on you...

I was searching for a jeweler to create a custom engagement ring for my fiancé and stumbled across JY on a google search. I have dealt with other local jewelers in the past, but the reviews of JY seemed very good, so I decided to visit them. I am so happy that I did. Don't judge a book my its cover. The outside of the building is nothing spectacular, but Christina and her team were absolutely amazing. Not only did Christina help me in the design of the ring, she gave me a fair price, made me feel very comfortable and no BS.

Christina made a wax version of the ring, so I could see the design in person and not just a sketch. The ring turned out amazing and was made well within the timeframe she indicated. My fiancé was so happy with the ring that we decided to also purchase our wedding bands from them and they also turned out very well.

We couldn't be happier with Christina and her team. Customer service: 10/10, Product: 10/10, Value for your money: 10/10. Thank you so much Christina for all your help!!! (and by the way, she loves the pearls too!!!)
