I went to this place because the google reviews were pretty good. There is no doubt that their customer service is good. They offered sharing plates even though we did not ask for them, came and asked if we needed anything, and etc. Their tempura udon was also good. Nicely battered shrimp and it was cooked just right. The sweet potato tempura was undercooked but I could let that go. Their sushi, on the other hand, was one of the worst sushi I had. Their rice was held too tight, making it very hard. It was like eating hard rice balls. Their sashimi quality was worse than ayce sushi places. (Izumi tai, or fake red snapper, was like eating rubber at first bite). Their rolls also had a thick lining of rice pressed really hard to make it thin, giving it a hard texture. I would not go back, but if I have to, then I would not get anything from the sushi bar.
I rarely write any reviews unless it’s really good or bad but I couldn’t just let this one go. Two stars because their customer...
Read moreNot very impressed. Spent a lot of money on takeout food to celebrate a birthday, (averaged $35 per person) Taste was ok, nothing special. But portions and quality of rolls were not as good as in the past. The bulgogi portion was very very small in size, and did not come with rice. Other restaurants include free rice with that dish, and the portion is double in size. For being a long time customer, and spending so much money, they could have offered to include the steamed rice ( valued around $2) for free. We were all still hungry after eating our meal. Very expensive and not worth the price. We will not be ordering from Ami Sushi again. Sorry you have lost a customer. In the future, we will order from Wasabi and Teriyaki instead, not too far away from Ami Sushi, they give bigger portions, have great quality, much cheaper, 10% off with cash payment, AND they give free spring rolls...
Read moreWe ordered over $150 from Uber Eats as a family. After eating a few pieces of a tuna roll, I couldn’t believe how bad it was. The sashimi was definitely not fresh so I moved onto the teriyaki chicken. It was like eating tasteless old rubber. I hate to say it, but I literally left the dinner and went to get a burger.
I was even more disappointed to hear that the owner refused to give us our money back, even though she admitted that the tuna and salmon “ was not fresh”. DO NOT EAT HERE!
The audacity to argue and refusing to reimburse after admitting it was old, demonstrates that this is not her first rodeo.
I will never go back, boycott this restaurant and sadly hope that she gets her act together for the sake of her customer’s health. It is a crime that the poor quality was coupled with a nasty attitude. I would actually pay people not to eat there, just because of that.
What a...
