The Blue Cafe — Restaurant in Oakville

I finally had the chance to try this cafe, and while it has potential, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The opening hours (9 AM to 5 PM on weekdays) are very limiting, making it difficult for anyone with a full-time job to visit. The food is decent, but definitely overpriced for what you get, and the service is much slower than you'd expect at a typical cafe like Starbucks.

Additionally, the menu is all over the place and doesn’t show prices for some items, which makes it very hard to make an informed decision—definitely not transparent. The atmosphere is a bit chaotic for a cafe. It’s a small space with limited seating, and the door opening frequently made it feel less cozy. People were lining up right next to our table, making it hard to relax. If you’re looking for a quiet spot to read or work, this probably isn’t the place.

I've been to this place three times in the last two weeks, and the experience has been very consistent. A beautiful atmosphere, friendly attendants, and delicious beverages and baked goods; these are three ways in which I would describe my experience at The Blue Cafe.

Unlike other commercial coffeehouse chains, you can taste the love, care, and passion put into the drinks at this independent cafè. You can see it too, given how well maintained and decorated the seating area is.

If you're in the Uptown Core area, I more than highly recommend giving this place a shot. In terms of recommendations, my personal favourite so far is their iced matcha latte. I've had matcha lattes at many different cafes, but the one served here is truly a cut above! They spend time whisking the matcha until it is a smooth consistency, so you're guaranteed to have a delicious and well balanced drink!

Such a nice change from the previous cafe that was here. It was surprising when I saw that a new business took its place and I walked in right away to check it out because I just had to see how good it could be. Right off the bat, everything was better. The colours, the music, the menu, the seating, the fresh flowers everywhere. It’s just such a cute new cafe and I’ve been coming here almost daily since they opened because their drinks and pasties are soooo good. Perfect spot to meet a friend, do work or have a solo date to treat yourself.

Because the place is new I understand a couple times that newer staff weren’t too familiar with the menu yet but honestly it wasn’t an issue as the main manager there is always around to answer questions and make suggestions.
