Bulk Barn — Restaurant in Ontario

I've been to this Bulk Barn several times over the past 6 months and have always found it be to very clean. I do not believe it is hyperbole to say I have seen staff cleaning every time I've been there. There is never a mess at the peanut butter or coffee machines. All the products I've had have always been fresh, too. I was specifically motivated to write this review after witnessing an incident between a staff member and a customer who was not wearing a mask. The employee politely asked the customer to stay 6 feet away from other customers if she chose to not wear a mask. The customer immediately became unglued and started to yell about 'disrespect' and 'medical conditions'. The employee remained polite but firm in her request and only escalated slightly whilst the customer was shouting. I don't know why you'd shop anywhere else for bulk foods. If I had any gripe; it would be nice if they kept the cases/boxes for bottled drinks accessible. It's difficult to carry half a dozen sodas to the front! I’m extremely disappointed with the service at this store. I purchased a pan just a few days ago, and the cashier never mentioned it was non-returnable. When I got home, I realized I actually needed a square pan instead.

When I went back to buy the square one and asked about returning the first pan, the staff informed me that it was non-returnable. This was news to me, as no one had mentioned this policy when I initially bought it. The manager came out to tell me that because the pan still had its paper sticker, they wouldn’t accept a return, citing they couldn’t tell if it had been used or not. What kind of excuse is that?

If I’d been told from the start that this item was final sale, I would have taken the time to confirm the right size. It’s frustrating and feels like a convenient way for the store to avoid taking responsibility for poor communication. Disappointed doesn’t even begin to describe it. One of the best Bulk Barn’s we have ever gone to. Really well organized and clean. The staff here are also really friendly and helpful. Items are well marked, well stocked, and easy to find.
