Crave Coffee House & Bakery, nestled in Kingston, is a fantastic locally owned spot that truly impressed during our recent visit. Despite being quite busy, the vibrant atmosphere and excellent offerings made it clear why it's a popular choice. Upon entering, the first thing that strikes you is the sheer spaciousness of Crave. Unlike many cramped coffee shops, Crave offers an incredibly generous layout with an abundance of indoor seating. This makes it an ideal spot not just for a quick stop, but also a perfect haven for productivity – definitely a place I'd recommend bringing your laptop to get some work done. The comfortable setup encourages lingering, whether you're catching up with friends or tackling a project. But what's a coffee shop without its namesake? Crave delivers a truly exceptional cup of coffee – rich, expertly brewed, and satisfying. Beyond the excellent brew, their selection of bakery items and sandwiches is extensive and tempting. Whether you're craving a sweet treat to go with your coffee or a more substantial meal, Crave has a diverse array of options that cater to every appetite. In summary, Crave Coffee House & Bakery is a true gem in Kingston. With its welcoming, spacious environment, delicious food and drink options, and commitment to local charm, it's a must-visit whether you're looking for your morning pick-me-up, a casual lunch, or a productive workspace. Highly recommended!

We were visiting Kingston on Canada Day and decided to visit a local coffee shop for a sweet treat and drink. We got the mini banana cream pie and cake pops as our treat, and some iced drinks.

I have to say that the banana cream pie was one of the best I’ve ever had. The dessert was fresh, a fair size, and tasted amazing. This dessert alone would have me coming back again for more! Our drinks were mixed up with the sizes we had ordered (we were given mediums, instead of large ones we had ordered & paid for) we didn’t say anything as it was packed and busy, and we just wanted to eat and drink, as it was hot outside.

Now I do have to say that when we were ordering our food and drinks, it felt a bit chaotic behind the counter between the staff. Maybe the reason our coffees got mixed up. For example, the individual would take our order and then interrupt us ordering and go do something quick and then come back mid order. Also, I wouldn’t say that anyone was “overly-friendly”. It was busy, so I am definitely taking that into consideration, with how the service was, but that being said, our food and drinks were made fast, which I appreciate.

I love coffee shops and love the smell of coffee and fresh baked goods, but this place smelt like burnt bread/food. It got to a point where we had to leave cause I couldn’t handle the burning food smell any longer.

Overall, the smell and service was the reason I would give four stars. If we’re ever back in the area, I would definitely come back and try again, and of course give them the benefit of the doubt knowing how busy it was...

Edit- I will be removing two of the stars I previously gave Crave. The servers are absolutely miserable and treat you terribly if you don’t tip for PRE-MADE sandwiches that YOU grab off the shelf. They don’t even pretend to hide it anymore. If I were the business owner I’d be having a serious chat with employees about how they treat customers, especially since I’m not the first to notice and leave a review in regard to this. It makes going into crave stressful and I now actively go out of my way to avoid the cafe.

been going to Crave for about 7 years, food is usually decent and drinks are good, but I hesitate to leave more than 3 stars. I will occasionally go in for drinks, but I usually pick one of the pre made sandwiches or salads to go. When buying these pre made items, I don’t tip, especially because the sandwiches can sometimes be a little stale depending on when they were made. Every single time I’ve hit the “no tip” button the servers instantly go from nice and pleasant to no longer speaking to me. The times I’ve said “thanks, have a good day!” To get no response and feel like I’m being immediately brushed off for not tipping for a pre made item. This has been a consistent thing for years. So just a heads up, you will most likely get attitude or be ignored by the staff if you choose not to tip for an item that none of those servers touched or helped with. A tip also shouldn’t be expected, ever. And the entitlement is a little gross. This is the ONLY reason I ever hesitate to spend...
