Nice selection of games but found one of the staff members to come across as a little rude and unpleasant. I’ve been looking for a cribbage board that can also store cards inside the board for some while now. I saw one on the shelf in a box that seemed to be able to store cards inside but it didn't say explicitly (from what I saw at least). I asked one of the workers if I could open it to double check before I buy it. She replied saying no because it’s sealed (it was just a clear sticker holding the box tab closed). She then said that if I don’t want it, she can put it back. I then I said that it’s ok, I can put it back. She then she said no, then did it herself, making it seem as if she didn’t trust me as if i’d open or steal it. Although not a terribly unpleasant experience, customer service lacks and i’m sure any other store would have allowed it. I would understand if it was plastic wrapped and that’s why it couldn’t be opened, but it was literally just a clear sticker holding the box tab closed. Maybe I just came in during an off day but it was enough for me to not want to...

Visited this place during the week, mid-day and left because we felt so unwelcome. An employee was shoveling out front when we came in and followed close on our heels as we entered the store to scrape out the snow we brought in. (It wasn't much for it being January.) I held the door for her thinking she was coming back inside and all she grumpily said was "just leave it" meaning the door. We came in and my husband stayed on the mats in the corner with our stroller as they seemed so concerned to have snow in the store (our wheels were slushy). A couple minutes later they asked him to move as they wanted to shift the mats around. Still no "hello", no "can I help you find something" or even acknowledgement of any kind that we were in their store other than asking him to move. We left after 5 minutes without buying anything because we felt so unwelcome (we were the only people in the store - it's not like the employees were busy with other customers). It's a shame because it seems they had some cool...
Read moreWe were awfully surprised at our experience yesterday at this store. Immediately upon coming through the door, we were loudly advised "We wear masks in here (pointing to his own mask) and there are free ones right there (pointing to a box by the door)". I was shocked to encounter this and asked "So if we don’t put on a mask, we can't shop here?" His answer was "Exactly". So we turned around and left. If the store owners read these reviews, they need to know that we have 3 grandchildren 3 years old and under that we buy a lot of for. We just moved into the Kingston area for retirement so the store has lost thousands of dollars of potential sales revenue from us in the coming years. All our friends have grandchildren too but Minotaur will never be on our list of places to visit. It's April 2023, we have updated science findings, the staff can wear a mask, keep their distance from us, shelter behind their plexiglass partition...
