Good, not great. Portions are generous, but under-seasoned and not very lively flavours. The sauce on the green curry had a bizarre texture, and the colour wasn’t appetizing. The Tom yum seafood soup was tasty enough and had lots of seafood in it. The Malaysian curry noodles were spicy, but lacked enough salt so overall were a bit unexciting. The wine selection leaves something to be desired. The service was too fast, and they made errors. We ordered the coconut sticky rice in banana leaf to go with our main, they brought us sticky coconut rice with mango (a desert), even though I pointed to the rice that was underneath the steamed rice on the menu. We received our appetizers, dinner and desert within about 15 minutes, and had barely had time to finish our appetizers before our tiny table was so full of oversized serving dishes, that there was barely enough room for our under-sized dinner plates. I’ve definitely had more interesting Thai food before, and although this was ok and filled us up, at $108 including tax and tip for soup, two dishes and one small dish of steamed rice, two drinks and desert, I probably...
Read moreOn the road back from New Hampshire USA to Toronto Canada, made a spontaneous stop in Kingston to grab some grub. I and my colleague decided to try some Thai cuisine and we were not disappointed with our choice. This restaurant is a medium to small size, sits maybe 75 people max. Their menu is quite diverse in terms of vegetarian, seafood and meat lovers. I had the Malaysian shrimp curry with rice and also the strawberry smoothie. The only critique I have is the rice side is quite small, but the curry is massive. It was very rich, mildly spicy and a little sweet. To me, it was the perfect balance. I thoroughly enjoyed the taste of the curry soup and the shrimp was nice and tender, not rubbery when over cooked. The veggies mixed in were properly cooked with a mild crunch to them. I highly recommend...
Read moreNice ambience. Overpriced for what you get relative to other similar places. We ordered a stir fry for about $21 which was a small portion and it did not come with rice, which was an additional $3.99 for a VERY small bowl, which could have easily been included as it probably cost the establishment 20 cents. Another reviewer called this place a tourist trap. Agree with this.
Also, in one of the soups there were very large mussels with some sort of grassy vegetation stuck to the outside of the shell. Highly unappetizing. We’ve had mussels all over the world and have never seen this. When we asked the server she just said it was normal and walked away. No offer to replace or resolve the issue when the other guest said they couldn’t eat it. Would not return based on...
