This review is more geared towards customer service than the food (Iāll explain.) Yesterday was Good Friday and as most, my family was on the hunt for fish and chips. Being that we havenāt tried Frydays we decided to give it a go. When we pulled in there was a huge line - as we expected but, to have waited in line for 1hr and 40 minutes, was wayyy out of line. After waiting over and hour we finally gave up and decided to go somewhere else. Sir Cedrics. There, we did have to wait a half an hour to receive our food, BUT our order was taken right away and there seemed to be a smooth system in place as compared to Frydays. My review is mostly this, if you plan to serve for Good Friday, perhaps you need to redesign your entire process. It seemed frantic and disorganized and it really wasnāt fair to have so many people waiting for so long. Also, I watched a few people who preordered not even receive the right order - so clearly that doesnāt help. Good Friday is your chance to shine!! And you have fierce competitors out there (Sir Cedrics and Pat & Hanks) Best to be much better prepared next year.
Edit after owner response :
I donāt appreciate the seemingly passive aggressive response to what was intended to be only constructive criticism. The fact remains this, your handling of Good Friday was not āseamlessā. It was a disaster. As mentioned in my original review, even those who preordered were complaining of not receiving the correct order (check other reviews.) Also, as mentioned, I intended to wait, but and hour and forty minutes is absolutely ridiculous. Sir Cedrics has a fantastic reputation and did deliver wonderful customer service to those that visited them. The wait time was genuinely 30 minutes and the food was fantastic. Iām sorry if that hurts your feelings, but the truth is the truth.
While I had considered visiting your restaurant at a later date, with this response, that ship has unfortunately sailed. Going forward, please learn to accept suggestions with some...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI like the light, crisp batter on the fish, so I have been opting for Fryday's over my usual choices, for the past several months... these past two times were not a good experience. I only eat Halibut the fish I received today was definitely undercooked and did not have the normal flesh texture, or colour (this fish was kind of grey, not the normal white ) of Halibut I was either given a different kind of fish or else their quality has significantly dropped. Also my last visit prior to this one I ordered ahead a Halibut fish and chips, upon walking into the restaurant to pick up my order, I noticed a placard which outlined a special for a Halibut fish and chip combo / dinner sooooo my fish and chips plus coleslaw or roll for $6.00 cheaper than my fish and chips alone. I am not fussy abut the extras I can take or leave tge bun and coleslaw but for $6.00 LESS why would I leave them? I asked if it was a smaller portion of fish or if there were any other difference, I was told NO, ok well I will take that instead... I was irritated that this seemed like an imposition for them... ummm why didn't you tell me when I ordered that for you to also give me a bun and coleslaw it would cost me $6 less. And your asking me if I want the extras since you'll have to repack the order (and that's an inconvenience for you)... I wouldn't have cared if they had been added in a separate bag... But yeah, I want to change my order, and yeah give me everything that comes with it. Geesh, I should have taken a pic of the fish I just tossed out.... I really don't think it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I have been to Frydays many times, and each time has been great until today. A young Asian looking woman took our order. We ordered 2 - 2piece haddock dinners and a gravy to go. We watched as the fish was fried first, then the fries. Apparently there was not enough fries dropped in the basket, and the young woman said just "to divide it evenly" (she said this in Tagalog to the other two male workers) instead of putting more fries in the fryer. Little did she know, that my wife speaks Tagalog and understood and piped up that we will wait for the fries! When we got home, the breading on the fish was super soggy and undercooked, and there were not as many fries as the last few times we had been there. With a 15% tip, it came out to just over $65, which i regret giving (also, the young woman didn't even say thank you and acted like a ungrateful millennial when she left the restaurant at 4pm, even before our order was done) I will not be going back on a Monday...
